No need for a guide. There are many locals that hike there. Just ask them or follow them. Most of them will just hike up the road to the top. The jungle trail will intersect with the road at various points.

@@iruscosmas7474 up to the summit (ie rest house ) is about 13km. However I am told that there is a trail beyond that. I would advise beyond the rest house if you are going for the first time and without a guide. Overall it is doable trail.

Last time I went there I was near setia eco park residential area and end up parking far from the lake itself. Do anyone know the landmark that I can waze so that I can park near the lake?

This particular lake, as far as I know, you must hike to get to it. No car park nearby. There are of course many lakes around the area, some of which can be accessed by road.

It isn't safe to swim although I have seen a few people who practising for Ironman swim there. Recently heard someone who did casual swimming drowned there. The lake is a man made lake, so there are tree stumps in them. No kayak on site although you can bring your own.

It is relatively easy. If you had done Gasing, this should be ok. It takes between 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to hike in.

good points. 1. start in the morning. (Good). 2. Pace should match your heart rate to be more precise! MAF (Max Aerobic Function). 3. Step aside (that good). Opposite direction. Downhill should be given priority to go first.
