The vocals aren't what they were at this stage of life but the gig was fantastic. So much great material and such great artists. It's a pity that Ritchie is estranged from them. Don Airey is under-appreciated in the shadow of Jon Lord but he is an incredibly talented musician. A great night out and I am glad you caught everyone being filled with joy at the start of Smoke on the Water. It's amazing after hearing it so many times that it still produces such a powerful response.

I just saw them at London o2. They still have it, very tight band. Love the big phat keyboard and bass sound with Paice's percussive dynamics. Ian does a great job as a frontman. McBride a good stand in for guitar.

What a brave performance by Eric, as he was clearly struggling with a voice problem. Truly great professionalism, and a never say die attitude as the show must go on. His bandmates and the brilliant audience helped him through, and he recovered to be able to complete the gig. It was an honour to witness live. Mt Big ALWAYS deliver!!

So cheesed off they didn't do Manchester as part of this tour. Have no leave left so couldn't get to another gig as they were all midweek. Hopefully Saxon will do an Autumn/Winter headlining tour.

They tried to let it out a few years ago - the setlist was amazing - but the fans could not accept that.
@mikeg.923810 ай бұрын
@@judascalrissian2252 Well the band needs to be realistic and remove it from the setlist , there's just some songs Rob can't sing anymore. The fans are going to have to deal with it , they have plenty of songs in their catalog they can play that are in his range. I'd rather hear songs that he can still sing decently , than hear songs mutilated at this point. Because the songs that are out of his range now sound absolutely horrible , they're tarnishing their reputation by having him try to sing above his range now. Which is probably why they're playing to smaller crowds and can't sellout venues anymore , you don't know what kind of performance you're going to get from Rob anymore and i think that's hurting their attendance and reputation. This is metal not the Rolling Stones and he needs to face the fact that at his age it's much harder on his voice to still sing certain songs.....
