My spark plug seals are rock hard I try pulling on them and they won’t come out any tip
@pzj70 Жыл бұрын
If you cant pull, try to break the seal first by turning them clockwise or counter clockwise. Due to age, the old rubber can be 'glued' to the.metal surface.

Can you put the springs above the axle for more ground clearance?
@ralphblekkink94262 жыл бұрын
Sping over axle is possible, you will need longer brake lines.

Good question. I don't know. Work space was limited with a 2.0 liter, can imagine even tighter wirh a.2.5

@@pzj70 Got it done 👍 haven't done the drivers side (US passenger side) yet but the (Aus) passenger side was actually super easy to get out without jacking up the engine. Only took me literally 5 seconds to get the valve cover out after I took off the oil fill, battery and cover plate above the fuel rail. The other side might be a little more tricky, not sure yet.
@82dupont3 жыл бұрын
@@stormb3948 ....It’s not too bad, unscrew fuel injector rail but be careful fuel injector doesn’t pop off and spills fuel, bottom inside bolt towards firewall is tough to get to unless you use a box ratcheting wrench or stubby with small 10M socket. I prefer the ratcheting box wrench with long flathead screwdriver, more dexterity. I used a long flat head screw driver to hold wrench on screw to loosen it and tighten it.
@stormb39483 жыл бұрын
@@82dupont Thanks for the info, I managed to get both sides done, didn't need to Jack up the engine or remove the fuel rail or anything. Not sure if my car (Australian liberty 2.5i) is different than the US legacy versions in terms of working room or something because for me it only took me about 10 seconds to get the valve covers off once all the screws were out, I found there was plenty of room. On the battery side, I just removed the battery, oil fill tube, fuel rail cover plate and tube that runs off the top of the valve cover. On the other side just the air intake and tube on the valve cover. Still took me pretty much a full day to do both sides though because I'm slow as hell. The longest part was cleaning the actual valve covers and around that area where it was leaking.
