The most exciting Championship series of all time. Braves and Pirates had just repeated in their respective divisions. The Pirates started as favorites and had a series of players with the talent to be World Series champions. Led by Barry Bonds Andy Van Slike, Orlando Merced, Cecil Spi, Jay Bell, the Lind boy. But they did not hit in the entire series, they were handcuffed by the Braves' poker of aces. John Smolz, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine and Chalie Librand would later be joined by surgeon Gregg Maddux from the Chicago Cubs. In the seventh game, Doug Drabek threw a jewel of a pitch, entering the 9th, not winning 2 x 0 against the Braves, but a very costly error by José Lind at second base in a routine play opened the gap for the Braves reaction, who with a golden hit by pinch-hitter Francisco Cabrera left the Pirates on the field Andy Van Slike from center field almost put out Sid Bream at the plate who seemed like he would never arrive, he was a slow runner Bobbi Cox should have replaced him that detail could have change history. It should be noted that the atmosphere in the Braves was very exciting, the fans' axes beating the indigenous drums, the chemistry of that team was unique. On the side of the Pirates led by the great strategist Jin Leyland, they had a very good rotation team with Drabek, Wagner, Bob Wak, Zane Smitt, John Smily, The knuckleballer Tim Wakfield who drove the entire Braves slugger crazy with that pitch As a butterfly, he won 2 duels, game 3 and game six. The frustration on Van Slike's face, sitting as the outfielder, like the rest of the team, couldn't believe it. The other side of the coin. Explosion of joy from the Atlanta Braves, the stadium collapsed. Fun fact Drabek at that time was the first pitcher to lose 3 games in a championship series. The offensive heart of the Pirates in both editions 91 and 92 did not hit and yet they played 7 games in both editions. The last great Pirates Team Word and the birth of a Braves dynasty

Im still a PC gamer to this day not gonna lie. It still works too, even on a modern LG flat-screen! Man they made stuff to last back then. He also had a kneel chair to use. Such a new and strange looking contraption at the time. I could go on but ill stop lol. Good times, thank you for sharing this! 😊

Firstly, my sincerest condolences on the loss of your mom. While it's never a good feeling to lose someone dear, it's comforting to know you have something on film that you'll be able to watch in perpetuity. <3 It's always a pleasant surprise to see NBC Daytime episodes of Wheel of Fortune, considering the vast majority of them (especially from when Chuck and Susan hosted) were victims of tape wiping (as was the common practice at that time, unfortunately). Are any of the prizes she won on the show still in your family's possession?
@jtm121802 жыл бұрын
Yep! The flatware is still in their dining room in the same case, it’s only used for big holiday meals and have always been only hand washed. The secretary desk stayed at my grandmothers in PA after we moved south in 1987. It stayed there until about 12-15 years ago and is now in my old bedroom in my parents house that’s kinda like a tv room now. The hen planter is also in there. I think the brass duck is somehow still around. You could see the look on her face when she basically rolled her eyes having to buy that…lol. The blue couch they sold in probably the late 90’s. To this day it’s one of the most comfortable couches I’ve ever sat/laid on. The blanket i believe is still in a closet The coffee table is still in their living room as well as the bottom part of the hutch. The painting is in the entry way, the clock is in a closet upstairs (I don’t think it keeps good time anymore). The stereo is still in a closet upstairs…not sure how well it still works but i believe it does, the commodore i believe was a piece of junk, they never took it out of the box and i believe within a couple years just threw it away. We had the lamps for a long time but they got rid of them awhile back

Sorry for your loss. $7,350 is a lowest 3-day total on daytime version, it’s a shame your mom failed to solve the bonus puzzle twice. I knew the second bonus puzzle SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW because the song is from the 1939 film “Wizard of Oz”. I watched that movie multiple times.
@jtm121802 жыл бұрын
She couldn’t believe she missed either one. I remember her saying it was kinda crappy how they categorized “somewhere over the rainbow” as a quote and not as a song. They did that because the song is actually called “Over The Rainbow,” and thus wasn’t a “song.” It was minor but was just kinda shady with how ticky tacky it was. She always said it’s a lot different when you’re on the set with cameras on you than sitting at home.

Ironic how the '91 series between these two was a classic with 4 of the 7 games decided by one run, but the Game 7 lacked drama. And then there was this series in '92 where 4 of the 7 games were blowouts like this one, but had an all-time classic Game 7.
