How is this holding up in the weather. I see the video is 2 years old...
@livingwaterranchtexas7 күн бұрын
Still works great but have to calibrate each time we use it. First year or so it would stay calibrated longer. That said, our plan is to pour concrete as a base. Right now it’s on dirt so when it rains it declines a problem. Overall I’d buy it again. Hope this helps

Would this be safe to Heat your house for emergence backup purposes?
@DavidBailey-mr7kq2 ай бұрын
No. You need one with an exhaust pipe that you can direct outside.
@jordanb1759Ай бұрын
Yes if you follow safety precautions. However, you don’t want something that uses batteries or electricity. It would be much cheaper to get a kerosene heater. Also easier to store more kerosene/ cheaper
@litoaykiuАй бұрын
Get a Buddy heater, uses propane and nasty smell of diesel or kerosene. With 20lbs tank you can easily get 3 days of heat; it won’t heat whole house just one room. I would never leave home without one on ice fishing trip; had furnace go out one in ice house once. Lots of people use them in pop-up fishing tents.
@curtisssmith5204Ай бұрын
It’ll heat just fine. But, it will put out a lot of moisture.

Is the scale basically waterproof? Like the load cells and that sort of thing? I know that you made a cover for the scale display, but is the other items ok outside? Oh and I am assuming it needs a power supply, correct?
@livingwaterranchtexas2 ай бұрын
Load cells are weather proof. All of that stays outdoors under our base. The only thing that needs power is the electronic scale part which we have in an enclosure. It’s battery powered.

The "new" DeWalt doesn't stand up for any product they have let other companies build and put their name on it. Propane puts out water vapor when it burns and rust the hell out of steel in cold weather.
