Another beautiful performance! I could have sworn I already heard you play this piece, or maybe I was going to suggest it to you but didn't! Anyway, thank you! ☺ You really don't have to take any of my suggestions, but if you should ever feel like blessing us with another Lied, Auf dem Wasser zu singen by Schubert would be lovely! ❤ I have fond memories of playing it to my aunt's piano accompaniment when the pandemic hit and we couldn't see each other in person. When I heard it for the very first time, I was overcome by such deep, melancholic emotions. It is by far my favourite Lied.

Did you know that he just wrote two C major pieces of music? One of his 24 preludes(he had to) and one etude. If C major expresses resolution, so can we say he felt unresolv ed?

I did not know that he wrote only two pieces in C Major! I thought the "Revolutionary" etude was one of them (since it ends in C Major), but the central key is C Minor. The two C Major pieces also happen to be the first piece in their respective sets - Op. 10 No. 1 and Op. 28 No. 1. Two great works. 😊

Clearly, Schubert felt that way as well, which is probably a big reason why you, I, and many others feel so drawn to his music. ❤ We can technically survive without music, but I think for many of us, we can't live without it.

I’m taken back to singing these songs , my mother on the piano, as a teenager more than 60 years ago. And I’ve found the book of music!! It’s an Elisabeth Schumann selection and now I’ll have a play of them on my violin . 💛

i've never heard this piece. beautiful melody with Kreisler touch, and of course beautiful duo! Kochan, could you play Schumann's "Romance" Op 94 No. 2? this is requested by my friend, James E. Graseck, whom i'm sharing your videos and he loves your playing. James is in his mid-seventies, and he was famous in NYC over 40 yrs. as Juilliard graduate Subway Violinist. he took the NYC streets/subways to perform for people and became well known & loved by the Commuters. the violinist with a very unique personality.

Schubert's Lieder are so soothing and inspiring and it makes me very happy that there is someone else who feels the same way. ❤ "An die Musik" is another one of my favourites. I usually prefer to play it in B-flat major because of the beautiful melancholy it envokes within me. The poem was written by Schubert's best friend and patron, Franz von Schober. I deeply resonate with each word.
