Looks like a great route, lots of miles and fun trip. Hope the weather cooperates since that is a rather northerly route for this time of year. Be safe.

Yes! I hope the weather is okay. It may be too late for that route, but I guess I'll keep a little open! Last year around the 24th/25th of October or so, I was all set to head in to Yellowstone from Cody, and all the roads got closed and a big freeze came in! So I changed up plans and headed south toward the sun. Ended up checking a few things off my bucket list that I'd missed previously due to Covid. Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelley.

Thanks for watching! Well, I didn't get there with my camper myself. Took a car with human friends from the Burlington, Vermont area! Just for the day. But I'm planning a big trip coming up with the camper starting from the Los Angeles area going north all along the coast, and then heading east. I might have to dip into Canada a few times!

Hi. Hmmm... I'm not sure about this one. Don't know if I've had that perfect oceanside experience. I've noticed a place called Dockweiler RV Park in Playa del Rey (Los Angeles). I've always had places to stay in LA, but I've driven past this numerous times, and it seems to have hook ups, and it's right on the Pacific. And there are lots of beaches to venture out and explore from there. I've covered a few (not in terms of camping, but having a day visit -- like Point Dume ep 64, or Heisler Park in Laguna ep 112). I camped at Big Sur in the woods (no hook ups, but they did have bathroom and shower, ep 72) which was wonderful, but that was near Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. What a terrific place that was to visit! Gorgeous! (Ep 73). Frances Slocum State Park had bathrooms and showers. I don't think they had electric. At least, I didn't go for that while staying there. It was very charming. Ep 139. If you find something, let me know!

Hi love the vid and appreciate you taking the time to go into detail on the pros and cons of the trailer. I was wondering, what do you use the larger propane tank for? In the few cooking clips I saw you had the smaller green bottles hooked up. I've been looking at various small trailer companies, and Runaway and CampInn's budget Roadtoad line have both caught my interest. Thanks again and happy travels!
@BrainFire
@BrainFire 6 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. In all honestly I've rarely used the big tank to cook. I don't seem to do as much cooking as I dreamt about, and those small tanks last for a while. But... if I was cooking a lot, that's what I'd be using it for. I suppose one might be able to power a heating unit, but I have not checked into that much. So far with the weather I've encountered, blankets have worked. And sometimes when I'm camping with hook ups, I'll run a small electric heater which works really fast.

Love your videos. I wanted to invite you to a Runaway camper we are having in May. It’s at Homolovi state park outside of Winslow Arizona the weekend of May 10-12. It’s the RCO western Circle the Wagons event. As an owner of a Runaway camper your’re welcome to join us. If you’ve never been to a Runaway rally they are really fun and you meet some fellow Runaway owners. And the campground is a great little campground with lots of things to see and do in the area. @BrainFire
@BrainFire 10 ай бұрын
It was surprisingly kind of out in the middle of nowhere on the main highway from Souix Falls to Rapid City. It's about 40 minutes east of the Badlands National Park. It did seem to be approaching "off season" when I visited in October. I see from the website it is now closed for the season and will re-open in May 2024. I think I shared it with about 20 people in total that day, so I got to be foolish without running into too many people wandering about.
