Hi David, thanks for you videos, I have a question about the frets: Which is the best fret eight for good playability in classic and flamenco guitars? regards
@schrammguitars17 сағат бұрын
I like frets that are 0.055" high. Same as what guitarist David Russell prefers.

Glad this showed up on my feed! I do this already but the trick I was missing was the draw plate to make the skewers a more consistent diameter. Will add this to my toolbox. Thanks!

I guess leaving enough of the male V to make a volute is not part of this design. It seems there was a perfect option to make one though. Interesting to see this style. I’ve so far made only one neck and I made it with birds beak joint. Similarly very time consuming, but so pleasing at the end.

The string tension will pull the neck into the desired relief. Depending upon how stiff the neck feels when I flex it I might sand relief into it. Just come from experience.

Incredible looking guitar! I’m still pretty early in my guitar journey, but definitely want to reward myself with a custom build once I’ve improved my skill some more. If you don’t mind my asking, what’s the price range for a build like this? Same materials? I currently have a Cordoba gk studio negra as my “growing” guitar. This would be a great “pro level” guitar for me. Thanks!

That's a nice, simple, and inexpensive project. I see it could somewhat easily be scaled for instruments that don't need a rest that tall - electrics, ukuleles, banjos, etc... I'll keep this in mind when I need a neck rest for one of my non "normal" guitars. Thanks for sharing!
