Late to the dance, but another trick is to use drywall joint compound tape. Same grid size and has an adhesive to it.

Run abit of clear smoke back over the top it'll blend it all together and set it off beautifully! What I usually do with my builds

Love the video! Btw, your compressor triggering all the time suggests a small leak in your line. Probably if you have a moisture catcher with a faulty washer. Check your line :)

Looks amazing! I can't find that kind of net that you are using for that particular effect (sorry but i'm not an expert). Do you know the proper name of that material and where i can find it? Thank you in advance.

I use decal sheet carbon. With decals softer, it works very well. And the sheets are not expansive.

Great model, I've had one sitting on my desk for like 2 years now and I am scared of painting her wings!

Any way to do this without a airbrush

Awesome! Do think I could achieve this with a cheap can airbrush? Don't have a proper one and not sure if i'm ready to invest in one yet.

Do you think the effect could be replicated if i use a brush instead of an airbrush? I understand it might be a bit more fiddly, but is it possible, or is it airbrush only?

I think you might be better off painting the pattern on if you're doing it with a brush. Much more tedious, but the paint definitely won't run under the stencil.

Maybe try using one of the spraycans of abaddon black that GW sells instead of an airbrush. It would be a little more clumsy but it may produce the same effect
