With respect, I think you should not call the Zadok priest a Jewish sect 0:58. If I am following you they, Sons of Zadok, are from the House of Aaron, making them separate from Yahudah and Ephraim. I know it sounds like tomato tamato, but that is why we got to where we got to.

100%, I agree with you. Personally, I make a distinction between the Judeans and the Cohanim. "Jewish" is a catch-all term, of course.

What makes the section on Zadok in Ezekiel 44:24 more compelling is reading it in Hebrew (how I came to this translation see below). Putting it all together it can read: “And because of the strife and controversy and rebellion against all the inherited lies from our fathers (Jeremiah 16:19)-(המה) HEY! what is real? what is a fake? They (sons of Zadok) will stand up and estimate as if pondering the value of “it,” “it” being the controversies and lies that led us to revolt against the oppressive rule of religion…at the seat of judgement they will decide the controversies according to My (Yahuah’s) Judgements and Word (את) of my Torah and Word of my laws, they will keep and guard it filtering out the lies as if one who filters dregs from wine-with all MY festivals of Leviticus 23 and covenant (את) the sign that they are my people (Exodus 31:12-17) they will set-apart and keep QDSH my Shabbats” (Ezekiel 44:24 in my own translation). צדוק “Zadok” means justification, vindication, ‘acknowledgment of the righteousness of divine judgment.’ These will fear Elohim and be erudite scholars. Lamed the Torah by Lamed-ing Yahuah’s שפה!! Shalom, thank you gentlemen for the teaching!!!

Wonderful. Thanks so much. I lived and worked in Israel for well over a decade. That little Hebrew word ריב in Ezekiel 44:24 goes pretty deep. It's so much deeper than legal courtroom terminology! I think you nailed it straight on. Good work.

I'm not sure, but to me it sounds like you are saying that when Yeshua was here in the flesh, the Jews were no longer keeping the correct feast days. Is this correct?
@avibenmordechai778812 күн бұрын
Yes, that is pretty much what we are saying. I spent many decades living in Israel and living under Orthodox Halacha. For a very long time, Judaism has been operating from a different calendar system. Sometimes it coincides with the calendar of the Tzadokim of the Qumran but most of the time, the Judean calender and the Qumran calendar are at odds. The same is still true today. Hope this helps to clarfiy the position.

@avibenmordechai7788 Yeshua said to the Samaritan woman at the well, we Jews know what we worship, and went on to say that salvation was of the Jews. In all of his criticism of how the Jewish leaders were misrepresenting God, not once did he say anything about them not keeping the feasts at the correct time. He was at all the feasts, teaching the people. If those feasts he was attending were not at the right time, then why didn't he say something. I need to do a lot more looking into this to make sure I'm right in what I believe, and you should do the same, because right now, what you are teaching is leading a lot of people in the wrong direction. I mean, what do we learn of apostle John, Philip, and many other early believers, such as Polycarp? They continued to keep Passover at the same time as the Jews.

Total fantasy. Where is one mention of Yahushua telling anyone they were keeping the wrong calendar at the time? If He openly and plainly rebuked them for such things as long Tzitziot and making a show of prayer, He surly would have corrected so egregious an error.

I do fully understand your thoughts on this matter. And candidly, a surface reading of the New Covenant text (the "p'shat" reading) supports your thoughts completely. However, when one reads "in-between the lines" so to speak, there is something far different going on. Many would call this, eisegises"; that is, interpreting a text by inserting one's own ideas, biases, or agendas into it. But this not what we're doing. We're processing the texts through cultural critical thinking. The clues are evident. For example, Matthew 16:3. "...you cannot discern the signs of the times." Signs of the Times is a Dead Sea Scrolls calendrical term. The same is true for John 12:36 and 1 Thessalonians 5:5, "sons of light." This is Dead Sea Scrolls calendrical terminology. But, I do totally understand where you are coming from in your thoughts. Years ago, I too struggled with the same view. Thanks so much for writing.

I agree with Avi in that I can see how you would think that as my husband and I once thought the same. Years ago (about 10 now) we first started learning about this subject and in no way am I suggesting that I could possibly teach on the subject as well as Avi and Eddie. However, we studied deeply into it over the years and see that what Avi is saying in his reply to you to be true. Avi did not say it but I will suggest that you go to his website where his podcasts are and listen to all of them going back the last couple of years on the timeline of the Passion Week for example. He delves very deeply into facts and we listened to each a few times over because there is a treasure there. Also, consider listening to a lecture that Professor Rachel Elior (sometimes spelled Olior) does at the Chicago University (you can find the lecture here on YT). She presents facts, also, she is highly qualified and she is not coming at it from a so-called 'religious' point of view & we can obtain quite a bit of historical information that is not addressed in the mainstream. Lastly - one could say that Yahushua did not address or 'reiterate' many things to his talmidim. I've contended with people in my own family who say that because Yahushua did not command us to keep the Sabbath or the other Moadim or many other things that He did not validate them so therefore we are not required to keep those things. Really? Did Yahushua have to reiterate certain things to His talmidim? Are we not responsible to look into matters ourselves? We are not all scholars or teachers (I am certainly not) but for many years I could see that I had pieces of a puzzle and some pieces were missing and it all had to do with history and Scriptural records and when I learned more from great teachers who have a good command of the language such as what Avi refers to then things fell into place. Understanding in particular what was occurring prior to Yochanan the Immerser and Yahushua's births in The Land really helped. It is a lot to look into but it's a treasure! Please don't dismiss something until you've looked into it. Peace

@ I appreciate you both taking the time to answer. I agree we should not reject things in ignorance of the facts. As we are commanded not to think beyond what is written, and that He is all sufficient for our needs. Being the Word, I am certain that any and all errors will be corrected in Inspired texts. This includes finding the errors added by the Yahudim that rejected Him, and then later by Rome. Can either of you share where this is plainly written in any texts that claims to be inspired? I have found exactly the contrary; that the Yahudim were not lead into error in regards to the calendar until after Yahushua came, but I am willing to study to show myself approved. Thank you for your time.

Total fantasy ? Oh my - every single point here is back by scripture AND history. What's your issue? Having to reconsider the influence of Rabinical edicts that we messianic believer's have been trudging along with- maybe? Shalom !

@@TruthsohelpmeYahappreciate your comment and I would dearly love to elaborate but it's pretty indepth study. However, I did have the same questions about why didn't Yahushua plainly state there were calendar issues at that time. Well thats where further study absolutely does help because there is a lot to be said for studying ancient near east traditions, 'sayings' for lack of a better word, prophecies, history and as much of the language as possible. by no means am I an expert but I am a student and love to learn as much context as possible. We were never commanded to not think beyond the Word. Yahushua is all sufficient and how would we know more deeply what He was doing and saying and WHY without contextual understanding? for example there was a wonderful article about some very dramatic events that occurred within a couple hundred years BCE of Yahushua's birth (and his cousin Yochanan the Immerser) that gave me a lot of insight into why certain factions came into existence and why did Yochanans father do what he did -and why did Yochanan come out from the wilderness. this is a tiny smidgeon. We are not to add or take away as in religious rules and regulations but there is important context to be acquired from studying history etc. I would encourage anyone to take the time and study and not to arbitrarily dismiss something but to delve into the subject, listen, read scriptures of course, pray , keep seeking. I had even read a person comment on one of Eddie Chumneys teachings posted on KZbin that they didn't like the way he was dressed(he happened to be teaching in an informal setting) . another didn't like what they considered to be his disjointed delivery (in their words). that is troubling to me. I have found great richness in the teachings brought forth by Avi and Eddie as well as others . There's still more to study. as i mentioned before.... go to Avis site and see the podcasts of the last two years and any of Eddie's you can find on the topic. Im traveling at the moment so my ability to reply is limited. Peace to you in The Name of Yahushua the Moshiach!
