You have deliberately avoided knits. Can you hear the old sculpturers saying "adorn the body without accentuating body parts"? Big box stores can disagree all they want! ❤

Also if you want to wear something quirky or unusual, only wear one thing like that and make it a feature, with everything else being neutral. Pink stockings are fine with an all black dress and black shoes. Not with pink shoes and a sparkly purple skirt and a rainbow top.

Fake eyelashes, lip fillers, those lycra leggings/bike style exercise shorts that are so short and tight in the crotch that they leave um little to the imagination, especially when in a pale colour.

Skirts that are too full with too much fabric also shorten the silhouette. I prefer a skimming A-line or just a pencil skirt that is not too tight, but skims the body. Most of my jackets end just below the waist to cover my tummy, they are not too cropped. Blazers are a bit longer. I am slim but I have a tummy, I must do something about it in the new year! Being slim elongates you and is healthier, this often goes unmentioned but it's important if you want to look good, feel good and look taller.

I really like your channel but I don't understand why you make these comparisons with car engines, punctuation, etc. You don't need it and we've already got the message because you've explained it so well. Imo it detracts from your channel, I would just stick to style and fashion if you wanted to make a comparison, and keep it on topic.

My suede shoes/boots always match my trousers/pants/jeans whenever possible. Belts: I like them but sometimes if the colour contrasts too much with the rest of the outfit, I take them off. They create an extra horizontal band that can make you look more polished but also shorter. Sleeves: I don't buy coats, jackets, blazers, knitwear with dropped shoulders, they look too slouchy and casual, I prefer the shoulder seam to sit on the shoulder. I hardly ever wear anything slouchy/oversize, but if I did it would just be one item, not both top and bottom. Bags: not too big and not too slouchy.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you about the length of pants/jeans/trousers, mine don't stop at the ankle, they are longer, almost down to the ground, this way they elongate my silhouette. I am not saying to go as far as Victoria Beckham, who probably has a million of trousers and can afford to get them frayed and put on another pair. But imo the longer the better, as long as they don't puddle over your shoes/boots. I wear my bootcut and straight jeans/corduroys over heeled ankle boots or chic suede trainers/ballerinas/mary janes/kitten heels. Slim straight jeans are a little shorter because of the cut, but all my other trousers/pants are as long as possible. Wide leg jeans/corduroys/pants/trousers make you look wide, we have lost objectivity because they're so popular. And the wider you look, the shorter you look. Sure they're comfy, but you will look wider. Try a bootcut instead, my favourite is Marks & Sperncer's Eva Bootcut (£25). They come in different lengths and washes, they ship worldwide and they are so flattering, I thoroughly recommend them. I bought multiples in case they are discontinued. I'm 58 years young and 5ft. PS I shrunk at least 2 inches due to age, lack of exercise and also the fact that during a major house renovation I slept for 4 years on a small sofa bed while my house was a building site. Please ladies keep stretching and maintaining a good posture, walk tall, shoulders straight and back, tummy in, don't look down at your phone too much, look ahead and around you or you will develop an unsightly, ageing hump on your back. Correct your posture while you still can or you will be in a lot of pain, look old and your spine will get compressed. It will creep in on you so don't wait until it's too late!

What’s so funny is that there is a trend among the wealthy that you dress in high end fashion that doesn’t have their logo flashed all over it. I can’t remember the name of it but it’s something like simple pieces that are high end, high priced and definitely that brand but it’s understated. Perfect example is Gweneth Paltrow when she went to court over that dude trying to sue her over that skiing accident ! She was head to toe high end label but none of it had their logo blaring out at you! Just classy pieces!

your software that inserts a pix for every thought is obnoxious and cheapens your important message and dumbs it down. You have some snips that barely even demonstrate your thought just interrupts and commercializes it. Walking thru wheat shows nothing immediately followed by another irrelevant snip. But the commenters are very good and make up for the mediocrity.

09:55: a nicely dressed up model walking down public stairs is holding a mobile phone in her right hand (risky, bad and unstylish enough) and … can you believe it … a coffee to go cup in her left hand. Stylish and good ladies care for themselves and their needs by being aware of the ressources of the world. She carries a small multi-use bottle filled up with water from home because you never know when you might need some water. Her cell phone remains hidden in a bag or pocket as she is not addictive to it.

Audrey Hepburn needed a sandwich. She was the opposite of elegance. Gaga is more excess than Britney. There’s not much in this video that isn’t already common knowledge or part of basic grooming. Most people don’t come to work looking like they are ready to be in a music video, anyway.

I think the most awful trend right now is leggings worn everywhere. Most people simply do not look their best in such garments. I get it that leggings are great for workouts at home or in the gym but beyond that this item doesn't enhance one's appearance even if you have a model perfect size 2 figure. Also the trend of wearing sweat pants everywhere tells others they encounter that they don't care much about anything. Do I own these articles of clothing? Yes. But they are for wearing at home or the gym while doing the activities they where meant to be used. I don't wear them anywhere else not even for a quick stop at the grocery store after a workout. I have also noticed that in affordable clothing stores the choices are terrible. It seems like 90% of the offerings fall into my most hated category. Most likely shoppers think that this is the trend so go with it or that they cannot afford anything from a better store. The choice is then get one or two simple but good quality pieces that will last or be always buying tacky clothing and likely spending more in the long run. My personal third choice is sew it at home. My last and more of a personal bugaboo is huge purses. I have always liked small ones--the kind that are about 8-9 inches square and just large enough to hold my billfold, keys, small notebook, pen, tissues, and a lipstick or chapstick. Small purses make you think carefully about what you are carrying around most of the time. If you need more space for an outing like waiting in the doc's office, carry a small tote for that magazine, bottle of water, etc. And simply for security's sake, daily carry is always an over the shoulder bag so my hands are free; the tote can be the same when it's needed. And for commuting, I use a small backpack (gray, it goes with everything) to stash my purse, lunch, office shoes and anything else I need during the day.

The phrase "high class women" is so cringe inducing and the video was a litany of platitudes and cliches tied together with circular reasoning. Never too much, always use the right amount of whatever from shiny fabrics to makeup and you too can be a "high class woman."

Good Lord! The lessons taught in this video are pure gold. Would love to see you do a video for men. Since 1980, at age 20, I refused to wear any garment with a visible designer label. I refused to wear Calvin Klein jeans because I reasoned that if my bottom was to be used as an advertising billboard, then the designer should be paying me for the service. Fit and quality of materials/craftmanship trump everything else.

My Elegance in Detail item that I think is the absolute easiest is caring for my wardrobe items. Every day we take our clothes off which is the perfect time to check them over. Do they need to be laundered or go to the dry cleaner? Do we need to deal with any pilling? My grandmother taught me how to care for my clothes when I was very young. One of her tips was to have a hook outside the closet for two times of day…. first thing in the morning and then in again in the evening. In the morning Nana would select her outfit for the day and would hang it up on the hook so she could select her jewelry and accessories for the day. In the evening, she would hang any clothes that didn’t need to be cleaned there to air out overnight before she put them back into her closet. I have done this my entire life and even my hubby chimed into this practice when he was wearing suits everyday. Nana also used to fold white tissue paper up with her clothes when she was packing for a trip as she swore it reduced wrinkles.
