I never run the AC in my cars unless I have passengers. Yes, even in summer. I can't recall ever having a problem with the windows fogging up when the heat was on and blowing warm air.

Modern ACs are a lot more efficient and you're not saving any money only risking malfunctions by lack of use for long periods

I came here to look for solutions, mine is very annoying, it says the audio is unreadable but I got this USB playing in the Vauxhall Insignia??? I have tried my best but nothing! Has anyone come up with any idea what format or what does it need?

You do not need temp on max. It will blow same temp no matter if it is set to 21.5 or HI when the car is cold.

Toyota Auris touring hybrid top of the range (estate), which i have so sorted :P (although would like a new lower mileage version)...or a Toyota Corolla estate. Both reliable, pretty cheap to maintain, has the space, drives nice. As I have to have it for the rest of my life, I would upgrade the infotainment system for up to date navigation/car play. But otherwise satisfied 😌

By recirculating the air you keep all the moisture and humidity from melting snow and slush on your shoes in the car. The car will fog and frost up. From my understanding most ac systems are computer disabled below freezing due to low system pressure to prevent compressor damage. At least this is my experience on a snowy 15 degree Fahrenheit morning

I heat/cool my car by auto starting it from my house then 5 minutes later go in to a warm/cool car. It’s a great investment

Auto won’t blast you with freezing air and that’s what I love about it. Auto gradually cranks up the power as the engine warms up. When the engine is totally cold, the fan won’t blow at all when set on Auto in my Avalon

Just leave it in Auto and with the temperature you want the car to be. ICE cars heat the interior using waste heat from the engine. Until the engine is warm, there is no hot water to heat the interior. If you want to heat the car quickly, drive the car. The Sooner the engine is warm, the sooner you will have a warm cabin.

What I was taught from grandfather to my dad is especially in the winter when u start your vehicle leave the heat off until the vehicle warms up and idle comes down then turn your heat up vehicle warms up way faster like this and when you do turn the heat on it’ll actually be hot

that's cuz it's extracting the heat that is already there instead of trying to produce heat. try driving on the highway and leave the temp on max heat but without the fan blowing. you'll feel some heat come in through the vent. likewise, if your car engine is overheating - turn on max heat and turn on max fan to extract the heat from it.

Also if you press and hold the Auto button on the left knob, it changes the zones from Dual Independent to Single, and you can sync-control the temperature for both zones with the right knob. In an Audi, that is.

Im on 7.5 per 100km, no aircon. I drive 10mins a day on average total. Short distance city driving, not much traffic. I expected better but with my low mileage its hard to say what the real world figure is

its a perodua it's basically jus a re built daihatsu for the Malaysian market they were sold in the UK briefly after daihatsu pulled out the UK market

PERODUA MYVI SXI , in all pov spec glory! Shares alot with the Daihatsu sirion and Subaru justy of those generations, Perodua also made a sport version with fake quad exhaust tips and a full body kit! They're kinda rare, there's a couple perodua/Daihatsu/Subaru/proton dealers in Suffolk so these are quite common still in East Anglia

The tyres are the ONLY connection between the car and the road (the four contact patches are each the size of a palm only). Thus it's crucial to have the best tyres and to take care of changing them (from summer to winter specialised tyres, not "all-seasons" if you do have four seasons), inflating, balancing, rotating, storing them correctly etc. 3-5 years is what I do (because I reach quite fast the tread limits due to spirited driving), but the best tyres may be used up to 7 years (for people with a garage, that drive cautiously and not that much), according to producers.
