NEVER crank the main engine decompressed with the throttle off the stop. Crank until you get oil pressure, go to compression THEN give it fuel. Injecting fuel that doesn't burn just dilutes the crankcase oil and washes the cylinder walls wearing the rings faster. When you shut it down, decompress until it comes to a stop so it doesn't bounce the flywheel keyway on the very last revolution. Your crankshaft will last longer and one less headache in years to come.

Thanks for the video! What made it better was no annoying music! The only music in this video was from The Tractors themselves!

The sound on KZbin doesn’t do this justice an old John Deere idling or under a load is a beautiful thing to hear anyone who’s heard it knows what I’m saying.

How do I adjust the pressure on a 1935 ar. I bought one at an auction. I was told it was rebuilt 25 years ago and then left alone. I cleaned the crankcase out and put new oil and filter in. Cranked and cranked on it and never got oil flow. Finally I saw oil running down the side of the case. They forgot a ferule in a compression fitting. Now it blows oil out of the filter cover. I'm assuming they turned the regulator up not knowing what they did.

@joescheller6680
@joescheller6680 11 ай бұрын
Depends on the soil not able to pull a three plow in heavy soils. Most of these tractors were pulling one less bottom than normal. Possibly because of the heavy pulling soil.

Ya use what you have available. I had a 3-bottom on site, ground was a little too wet for an A.

I was wondering if I could get some help with identifying a section of an old plow. I want to paint this beam, plowshare and moldboard, but I'm not sure what brand colours to paint it yet. There are two identification numbers on it: P1125 and P1136. If anyone has knowledge on this, would be greatly appreciated!

Talk about nostalgia!! It's been many decades since I heard thus beautuful sound!! Our first diesel was a 70 ... then I'm thinking a 720 and then prior to 4020 was a 730. I'm also thinking that the 720 was pony Starr, and the 730 had direct battery start. Little did we know in those days what the evolution of farm machinery would do. Our first self propelled combine was I'm thinking a model 40, and next a 45. I believe tge 40 has a gas engine, and the 45 a diesel. I coukd have them wrong tho ..... it's been 60+ years!! Lol I'm also thinking that the invoice on our first 4020 was between $5-6k too!! Now, 50-60k won't even buy a nice used one. I guess they call it inflation.
