So sad about the chickens 🐓 and yes one reason a lot of people don’t do them. 😂 my tomatoes are all plant and I gave up trying to prune them. But I will have to top them as they are 12’ high 🤦‍♀️. 😂😂 my tomato jungle has taken over. Your weather has been super wet but ours here in SW Canada has been super hot so I avoided going outside and ended up with the same problem. 🤷‍♀️ what are you going to do we work within the weather. Your actual tomatoes look way bigger than mine. Yes pruning is a brutal but much needed job. I don’t feel too bad then 😂 I have bush bean starts to get out. 😂😂 my squash are small too and it’s been insanely hot here so I thought they would have been bigger. Sweet peas however are taking over as are the vining nasturtiums. It’s so awesome to start getting harvests from our gardens. We don’t have stinging nettles but I do prick my fingers in brambles that find their way in the garden. My garlic looked the same and oddly enough they didn’t split even after our insane cold winter 🤦‍♀️. Have a marvellous day and watch those nettles, Ali 🌞🇨🇦

We are battling slugs, leaf miners and mice 🐁 it’s never ending the things working against us 😂. But you have done loads and summer will be better (if it ever gets here). I keep saying I’ll grow less next season and concentrate on our favourite things but then the excitement of sowing gets hold and 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Yeah. We've had a lot of rain too in North Yorkshire. my First Early spuds are in already (2 weeks ago) and I'm putting a second batch of them in tubs in a couple of weeks time. My Main Crop spuds are going in the tubs this weekend! Exciting! SUBBED 🙂

I always cover my beds in winter, it means I can just pull back and plant!

I know how you feel, I've not had lot's of enthusiasm about the Allotment lately but there's just been so much rain and grey weather! My channel hasn't really grown all year it's only the last couple of weeks I've had a few more subs but all year I've continued to put out vlogs. Next year I'm going to be kinder to myself and not stress if I miss a week here and there!

My husband blocked the end of our greenhouse guttering with some silicon. Its enough to make the water go towards the other end.

Water will run along anything, a string, a chain, a hose.. To cap the other end, a peace of plastic with some silicone goes a long way 😊. Been awhile since we had such heat, I'm glad to see the weather picking up.

Can't remember when it was 27 degrees Amy, it's been so awful since!! Your ingenious water collection devices must be full to overflowing by now. Well done on your hard work on this project, hope to see results soon.

Thought I www late planting my brassicas, glad to see I'm not. I feel your pain with the watering, I've been watering a bed in preparation of planting corn and when I dug down it was like dust, so of the four hours up the allotment, two of them were spent watering.
