This is simply a sales tactic for general dentists to replace your tooth with an implant. Implants are not perfect. On average, bone around implants resorbs at a rate of 0.25 mm each year. Also, implants are not self cleaning, your natural tooth is. Root canal treatments are not perfect, but they are much less expensive than an implant and they last much longer on average if they are done by a skilled endodontist. There is a reason that the majority of dentists support the use of root canal treatments. It is backed up by the majority of the literature. As a skilled dentist, you don’t change treatment protocol simply because there are a few studies showing possible negative contraindications for a root canal treatment. You must look at the whole body of research to make logical decisions for your patient’s care.

Throughout the years I have had 4 root canals from 4 different endodontists and they all failed. I had infection with all of them again. This was a waste of $1800 dollars each one. I should have just extracted the teeth in the first place and got implants. 80% of root canals will eventually fail and you will get infection or other issues again. Don’t make the mistake use the money bypass these so called root canals and go straight to implants I know everyone is different but other people I know have trouble years down the road on their root canals also

When I was 15 a dentist told my family I needed a root canal. Turns out this was a lie and I went through about 3 months of pain while this supposed root canal was being done. Turns out the dentist wasn't even licensed. He just bought some equipment and set up an office. I just stopped going and refused to go back again which left me with a lifelong mistrusted dentists. The dentist was eventually arrested when I was about 20, but not because of me. Because of some other patient. Justice was served because he was sentenced to several years at the Illinois State penitentiary at Joliet where my Uncle Frank happened to be the warden! I personally believe there's no such thing as a root canal and it's just something didn't to say when they feel they want to buy a new Mercedes. I never had that root canal and I still have all my teeth except for the two that that particular dentist removed, and would probably did not need to be removed. I was a healthy 15-year-old with healthy teeth from an upper middle-class family. Except for the aforementioned two teeth, I still have all my teeth and I am healthy. I think root canal is just a scam. And I've been saying that since the 1970s.

Many years ago I turned down several root canals and told the I only wanted a crown, one was very infected so I had to sign a waiver. Well here it is 20+ years and i have the same crowns without any problem. I have a smaller brokken tooth and first thing out of the dentists mouth is root canal then crown. I told her no way to a root canal and she said well we'll look at it and maybe have to pull it. I said fine, no root canal, right now it is a crappy patch she threw on it to stop the sharp edges that took 5 minutes without any drilling or anestesia and she charged my medicare insurance (not much of an insurance) $179 for a 5 minute patch.

In my personal experience, I had seven root canal done. Root canal treatment is highly expensive with no guarantee success. It is a very difficult procedure. Although root canal treatment has removed the toothache, but I doubt it removes all the bacteria. A root canal treatment can save your tooth for ten years, and this is not a guarantee, at least in my case, I know it is not. It can not last for ten years.

I urgently need help. I had a bad accident at 10 years old which caused me to lose my front tooth, the dentist actually put it back into my mouth and put a temporary brace to save it then did a root canal. I had the same tooth extracted when I turned 18. It was well over a year ago and I’ve spent so much money on dentures and retainers already. I had braces as a teenager and my teeth move if I don’t wear a retainer. I want to get an implant so badly but the advice is that it is bad to get one before the age of 25 because our jaws aren’t fully developed. Also the prices for a zirconium implant is crazy compared to the normal toxic titanium ones. The prices for a consultation with a holistic specialist is crazy. Can anyone please give me some advice?
