Hello. Following your video i just changed my pulley machine around as i was annoyed by the 2:1 ratio. Don't you think it's harder to pull with one handle now that your lifting the exact weight similar to when it was attached to cable pulleys?

I don't quite understand what you're asking here. Sorry 🙂

Did you make it yourself by combining the pulleys in one place and gathering them in one ring? Or is it a purchase?

Could've switched to aluminum pulleys and it would've been much smoother. Cool trick though

I didn't see any aluminum pulleys, but have considered garage door pulleys. Those are galvanized steel with exposed bearings - very smooth. I imagine the garage door pulleys would wear the cable coating pretty badly.

What tower did you start with? I wish they'd default to this design. It's not like you can do flies with these two cable designs

So Rob, after almost a years use, how has the modification worked out? I'm trying to decide if I should build my own or buy one like this and modify it. BTW, nice work!

I use it almost daily for my workout. It's been great. Smoother than it was originally.

@@robblack9932Is this ratio conversion possible on any dual pulley set up?

@@robblack9932 : I was hoping you lived here, i would pay you to change the ratio in my crappy pulley system! It's a made in canada model " Nothern lights/IRFT150". It has 2 (150 lbs) stacks 54 inches apart. There's not even a ratio specified on this thing so i never know what i'm actually lifting, it's really frustrating. I've had it for 2 months and it's already become too light for heavy flyes or presses.

@@marlon1171 just looking at the model you referenced, It's tough to see exactly how the cable runs, so it's tough to tell if it would be simple to convert yours or not.
