I've never heard of these guys before. I heard "Heel On The Shovel" on the radio today before the DJ announced who it was. I thought of it as a mix between The Waterboys, Sergio Leone, and The Veils. I had to know more about whoever was singing that song. I assumed it was some new, or at least relatively new music, but I see I was way off. Why am I only discovering this so-far amazing act now, 15 years later? Well whatever, better late than never.

I've seen (and really like) the film, but sadly didn't catch the stage version. Woven Hand has some awesome music in it. But it isn't exclusively their songs. I think Woven Hand also did some stuff for Vandekeybus' more recent film, HERE AFTER. It's pretty cool too.

No problem. Ultima Vez is a contemporary dance company based in Brussels, Belgium (a very cool place for dance and avante garde theatre). The Artistic Director is Wim Vandekeybus, and he along with a varying group of dancers/actors have been creating uber-cool dance pieces since... er, the mid-80's or something. A number of these works, originally conceived for the stage, have been adapted into films. BLUSH was one of those pieces.

I absolutely love that line from "Consecration" that he throws in at the very end. By that medley is not with "Swedish Purse". I can't find any lyrics or information on that song at all, although he did play it when I saw him in October, too.
