I knew him and I know his wife Brent was a good man his step daughter loved him tremendously the police could have used other means to subdue the man

I met Brent a couple months before he was murdered. I am a vintage vehicle, large 4wd truck collector, professional Automotive engineer I understood him; he was a brilliant individual, only a small percentage of people can completely re-engineer vehicles from the ground up and Brent did that many times. I visited his property in Patagonia and we spent the afternoon combing through his epic collection. He was actively building a bad-ass jeep for his daughter, Atlas II, big motor, the works. Brent was extremely proud of two things, his family and his vehicles. To see him murdered in cold blood makes me sick. My future dealings with police officers in this country will never be the same. America is a police state. US police kill more people in days then other countries do in years and we also have the highest incarceration rate in the world. It amazes me that these murders are cherished by society. There is no protection of life in this country anymore, take a Vacation out of the USA, go to Europe and you will see how screwed up this country is.

Shot an unarmed man that the wife repeatedly told the offices he was faking, not shot him once, 10 times....How about non lethal means or shoot him in the leg? I feel for the offices but dang! How about working an officer around to the side of the garage and when he advanced, look at his hands or run and knock him over or shoot a bean bag at him instead of 3 officers shooting him. Department needs a new policy! Police have a hard job and this will not make it easier.

Tomi missed the days of Havasu back in the early 90's. Much crazier back then! The channel use to have huge water balloon fights with the people on the shore versus the boats. Its was awesome until they finally banned it in the mid 90's. Good times back then before all the cops. ;-)

Anyone that has experienced a demonstration of the effectiveness of this (in military training or otherwise) will have no doubt that a 2 second shot of pepper spray would have ended any “threat” perceived. The situation could have been neutralized without entering the room

I am not getting the whole story with this video but my question is; why lethal reaction and not a tazer of bean bag??? Also, there was no flash bang which would've really thrown him off his game. I didn't see it as being such a dire situation that they had no recourse?!!

the police where there cause he broke into his fathers house the father is the one that called the police and met them out side before they went inside. he was not sleeping

The police didn't even announce who they were or ask him to come out. It looks like he was asleep. With their lights blinding him and all the shouting he probably didn't even know what the hell was going on before they killed him. This was fucking murder.

Why not close the door and let him be alone with his knife? Why not wait him out AWAY from the room? Why not secure the door/scene, and develop a plan? He hadn't murdered or raped anyone. His father called the police for help, not to kill his son. Why was police response to kill when their orders weren't obeyed, when they could as easily have closed and secured the door / secured the scene and took their time instead of killing this man? Isn't life sacred? Both police and Devin could have survived had police slowed down and took the time to save a life instead of killing this man.
