You are wonderful !!! I was a mirrored dyslexic. My Mom spent many hours working with me. Her solution was to put a piece of paper in front of a mirror and have me look in the mirror while writing. Dyslexic Thinking "gh" why ? It doesn't even make a sound !!! 😆 🤣 😂

Also, do you find it helps your son to watch you draw the words, or do you draw them first and then show the list to him?

Thank you! This is so helpful. May I ask where you get your spelling lists? I like the concept of grouping by phonics rule, but don't know of a phonics/spelling curriculum that does this (although I'm sure it exists).

Perhaps you are unaware of that atrocities KZbin is commiting. You are playing the violin at the entrance to Auschwitz, making a buck while KZbin deplatforms Jovan Pulitzer. Move to rumble and I will support you. Good bye.

This is so helpful! I didn’t know how to use different colors correctly. I also love the idea of adding a picture to the spelling word or sight word. Thanks!!

Does this work for 3 letter words as well? And if you happen to remove the pictures for the word, is the child able to recognize the word? Please do reply.

Kudos for the video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Bonaliyar Bizarre Blaster (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for teaching your child to read minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my friend at very last got amazing results with it.

Many dyslexic kids find red hard to see, so be aware that colours are important and experiment. For my students, a pale blue background plus quite large, bold 16pt letters in a san serif font work best for most of them.

My 10 yr old daughter was just diagnosed with dyslexia, we are sure my husband has it as well. He told me to draw pictures onto her spelling words and I honestly didn't understand how it would help her. Now that I see this video, I will try it. Thank you for this video.

I think in every country in the world should have assisted technology for adult people with dyslexia help read and write mandatory. In school, All kind of libraries, courthouses, State House, government buildings, trade schools, organizations that help you find jobs, Banks, credit union colleges. I believe we got far in with helping dyslexia people but not enough for the adults that's dealing with it everyday.

Well that's quite a lot of hard work, I appreciate! Though I am not clear how this method can help with reading in any other situation than the intensive reading context. It seems to be helpful for teaching new words and spelling... I need help with actually learning how to enable a dyslexia child to read independently in any context spontaneously! Hope I made it clear, please help me out! Thanks 👍

This builds the foundation for reading, spelling and deconstructing new words. My son did not use traditional means of decoding words to learn to read (ie: sounding out words and rules - it just wouldn't stick). He needs to "see" the words to read them. So we started with the basics (sight words) and progressed from there. Once he learned all the sight words, we moved to the readers. From there we moved to leveled books and progressed through them. Hope that helps. Dyslexics are visual learners so you will find that traditional methods of memorizing vowel sounds and chunking don't work. This is a visual way of getting at the same thing.

My boy still has problem reading books despite the fact that he already managed to graduate from kindergarten. The coach were feeling issues that he may be able to enroll grade as well as proposed to hold back. Fortunately, we found this reading guide. His own reading skills are fantastic for the first grade pupil and his progress definitely amazed the personal tutor. Our personal tutor mentioned our story to other people. Get this reading guide by Google. The program’s name is Elena Readoρiz Hope

Man, I've struggled with spelling my whole life. Just a few years back in my 50's, I finally made my own connection on the word Wednesday, which I have been miss spelling constantly. I need look at the word as Wed nes Day in order to spell it correctly. I learned to get creative with this stuff and make things funny....as a way to remember things.
