Found this track when you posted it years ago after looking for it. Red Oaks brought this to my attention. Is there any info about this band that you can share? I absolutely love the track so much. I’d love to know more about them!!!

Thank you...where are you from? Here is what I wrote in the description...This band Max Badger was working in the early 1980s in a club circuit in Southern California playing cover tunes in nightclubs and working on these original tunes while signed to a "management" deal, but no record contract. Things fizzled out about 1983-84 when nothing was happening with the original music. We changed focus from a club band to the goal of a record deal and it did not materialize. Jim Potkey wrote this song for his wife, and we loved really getting that emotional performance. Jim passed away in 2010 and this song was used in the TV shows others have mentioned about 6 years after he passed. Jim had recorded the versions on the TV shows with other guys, but seemed to stay with the feel we originally gave the song. We had no idea it was used in the TV shows until I posted this live performance from our soundman's cassette "work tapes". It is fascinating/really cool to see people searching for the song and finding it here! To my knowledge, there is no commercially available version of this song. Jim probably submitted this and other songs to a "music warehouse" where producers and music directors look for music for the scenes in their shows. We are grateful our soundman kept the tapes in good condition. I had forgotten many of the songs I have posted. We got together and listened to them in January 2019, I had them digitized so I could make these videos with the only photos we have from almost 40 years ago. Fun stuff! The playlist of other tunes recorded at shows is here... kzbin.info/aero/PLWq06-maBfWWyrp3S4FQRwG1j8DLsD78Y

As a Swedish fan of Red Oaks, I’ve probably watched the show at least five times. The scene where Wheeler picks up Misty after she’s been dumped, and that song starts playing, is incredibly emotional. Thank you so much for uploading and sharing the song, Rob!

(Transcribed this, not sure about line 12) Why do they laugh at the words that I say? Why do they hurt me walk away? Is it my fate to be left alone? Don’t I have any choice of my own? Only make believe that you’re here. I won’t let the image of you dissapear. And when they bring me down to my knees, I won’t let them see one single tear, no. Do they measure the grief in my eyes? Can they see through my lonely disguise? Don’t you leave me here to fall. 'Cause they really don’t know me at all. (NOT SURE OF THIS LINE) Only make believe that you’re here. I won’t let the image of you dissapear. And when they bring me down to my knees, I won’t let them see one single tear. No, no, no! Do they measure the grief in my eyes?
