The VA state inspection is a scam. if your car fails ask yourself...how long was my car unsafe to drive? 10 minutes after inspection? 10 days or 10 mos? No one can say. The State certainly doesn't care. Does the state certify anything real? Back it up if you have a defect that was a part of the inspection? no of course not. you silly little man! Instead, the inspection scheme is clearly designed to ensure that the right sort of people are able to afford drive. additionally, it's designed to enrich shop owners by supplying a steady stream of revenue and the state with those sweet, sweet taxes.

The video doesn't mention knock sensors and the problems that can occur if the sensors are not operating properly.

Here in Northern Virginia, how do you prepare? Well if you take it to a dealership simply unbutton your pants and grab your ankles.

Hey guys I'm using 89 gas which is premium in the us. And I'm hearing a tick sound from my engine when warm...m could it be the bad gas ?
@RasoKye5 жыл бұрын
89 is barely premium. Go to 91 or 93. But you could be like mine, and its just in the engine and high octane cant fix it. At that point, do what I'm about to do and take it to a shop.

Sounds like you need a valve adjustment
@seanoh4325 жыл бұрын
89 is midgrade. saving a couple of dollars can cost you more.
@joevignolor4u9492 жыл бұрын
Actually a modern engine shouldn't knock regardless of what octane fuel you use. These engines all have knock sensors that are basically microphones that allow the computer to listen to the combustion inside the cylinders. If the computer hears knocking it retards the timing to get rid of it. You will loose some power because of the timing being retarded but even with lower octane fuel the engine shouldn't knock.

I like how they say the inspection keeps you safe on the road, even though it doesn't, that's because the inspection only applies to cars registered in VA, it does not apply to cars crossing state lines coming into VA driving on VA's roads putting Virginians' safety at risk, considering there are over a dozen states in this country that don't have inspections.
