IMO when the US started preaching individualism and focusing on self we took that up hook, line and sinker. We never looked back to regain our sense of community. As an aside and unrelated - I haven’t listened to rap since the 80’s. Even then it was on a very limited basis. I’ve only started listening to rap on a limited basis because of the beef. Not down with the overuse of the N word, explicit sexual themes, and materialism. When I listen to music, and it is not frequent, I listen to old R&B (Curtis Mayfield, etc), Funkadelic, and early Last Poets. Peace, and will make sure my notification to your channel is turned on.
