Cessation-ism lead to the Jefferson Bible. Remove the miracles of the Bible from Christianity and all you have left is a set of laws morals and values for mankind to live by.. And like you said about people functioning as a "Saul of Tarshish", is true, but they are blinded by it since the religious spirit binds and blinds those who it controls.
