I just got my installation two days ago on very short hair! I had traditional locs for over 15 years and also started short. I’m embracing this new journey with confidence and pride 🥰

I'm thinking of getting sisterlocs, because I have sensitive scalp and hate tension on my scalp...yes I heard when traditional locs are wet they can get really heavy, which is what I wouldn't like....how about if I get smaller locs....and the retwist, it looks painful and I don't want tension bumps. Does retightening sisterlocs hurt?...

I’m almost one month in, and my sisterlocks got me looking like a plucked chicken. Yesterday was literally the first day I thought they looked okay. I’m hoping my first wash this weekend will make them look even better, but ultimately I know it’s really just going to take time. I am also optimistic seeing just how fast my hair grows in a month, so I think I might reach my modest length goal the first year.

I’m 2 months in my hair is about 5-6 inches. I know this sounds crazy but I talk to my hair saying how beautiful, long, and mighty they are. I curl my hair to give it a nice stretch then I go into styling. I let my hair do it’s thing and just enjoy the process and ignore if they’ve grown a inch. Yes I get the stares from other black women, some compliment, or just stares. Mostly the black men would say how good it looks. I just take it all in and be confident. Remember black women this is us whether short or long. As you get your reties your hair will get to a comfortable length .

I am one month in and started with three to four inches of hair, established on June 19th 2022, and I am guilty of saying those very words. Thank you for the encouragement not to speak those words because they do have a negative connotation. But I am enjoying the journey they're changing every day and some Styles I do look better than others. I'll have to go on Amazon to look for some more Satin lined headbands. Thank you for the video. Sending love from the DMV.

DMV stand up! 😂 Thank you for watching 😊 and thanks for the love ❤! You are going to be surprised at how fast they grow and flourish! I still can't believe i just hit two years and they touch my shoulder now. I had to wash my hair before my 4 week suggested wait when I first installed my locs. I continue to interlock my locs when I have about 2 inches of new growth. I interlock my hair by sections so I never have to interlock my whole head at my ne sitting.

I just did my first self-retightening two weeks ago at my one year mark of having Sisterlocks. It took me two days with a few breaks and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I used two mirrors, front and back. I’m satisfied with my outcome. 🤗
@amberdenisetv12322 жыл бұрын
I was a bit on edge about it at first, but I am glad to have had the experience. It really wasn't that bad. And I definitely took naps and breaks along the way 😂
