Alex, did you misquote some of the fines? My eyes are not as young as they used to be. But I thought the amounts quoted were hundreds not thousands. Example....$2,200.00 is twenty-two hundred dollars. You are saying twenty-two thousand. A single fine of $22,000.00 would put any OO out of business.

This isn’t a surprise. They have been revamping chicken coops in many different states, making them into super coops with technology that identifies low air tire pressure, defective brakes, ( heat sensors ) x-ray technology, license plate identification technology, facial recognition technology, and they have a way to visually identify tire tread depth and imprint your tire tread patterns onto a screen. Picking and choosing American companies ( particularly the owner operators ) as the targets and letting the companies that have non English speaking drivers slide. So, increasing the fees and fines, and finding new ways to identify their potential victims of domestic highway robbery, is a natural step, given their investments in expansion, and the technology they have incorporated into their extortion operations- check points. Literally with the words, “ SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS!!! “ They just call it a Level III Inspection. Funny how history repeats itself.

ELD logs are not bad. Companies that have these in their trucks give you enough time to get there. Even on paper logs. It is still hard on me. As a machinist. I worked long hours. 16 to 20 hours. Through. the years. Getting 4 to 5 hours sleep and going back into work. The ELD logs. Feels like you lost your freedom. From. Truck driving.

19 years old is not too young. But if he was to kill some people in an accident. He would be charged as an adult. But he can't go on the store and buy beer. Or cigarettes. The main thing is. It is so easy. To build up your confidence. In your own head. Because of all the driving and maneuvering that you do. And you get too comfortable with your job. Not everybody has common sense for this job. At that age, you need more training. At that age, this is a tough lesson.
