I swear, the older I get, the better his music seems to become. The raw, inadulterated authenticity of the melodies he created get stronger in an almost magical way and quality. Whenever I look at a snowy mountain, I always have a little thought of you. Present in my life since 2008, in both times of great sadness and great joy, I say "Thank you" to Valfar and RIP to this great soul! 🖤

I recently stumbled upon the band An Abstract Illusion, and thus their cover of this. And I love both versions. This song is amazing!!

This is just so special and timeless. Pretty much everything Valfar did in Windir. It pains me to think about what other masterpieces he may have created if he didn’t pass away. He is black metals Jimi Hendrix.

Horn understood black metal. One of the best artists in this genre. So many deeply touching songs with special atmospheres.

Valfar is bigger than any genre. This could be a pop song for all I care!! This man was the savant of our time and only the most particular of ears is blessed with his compositions!!! Rip to this man. And this is just one of his single-handed songs that brings grown men to their knees. No playlist on Earth can contain this man!!! Long live Valfar, ein windir!!!!!!

The melodies on this album are not from this world. And they are produced in such a way to create intense feelings of eternal longing, nature, vast Northern landscapes and skies. A yearning for something ineffable across time and space. Beautiful and nostalgic. God bless Valfar.

I like this way of looking at windir. Valfar had that ability to create a flowing story with the rhythm section that PF did so well, in addition to completely changing up the arrangement mid song without it being jarring or inappropriate. Plus gorgeous soundscapes

Valfar was the Mozart of Black Metal. I‘ve never heard anyone else compose a BM song like Valfar. There is more to find in this song than on many other BM albums.

The most sacral and psychedelic black(viking)metal song ever. It's about cold, warrior's soul and eternity. It has changed my life, i think, or maybe just i have found myself in it.
