Looks like they've butchered the front a bit, the headlights look a bit off compared to the real thing and the front seems a bit too elongated (although there were longer and shorter versions of it). The 'insectoid' you mentioned is the air box.

Yup, the most unfortunate part of autoart is the remnants of the glue that overflows. I once bought an AutoArt Venom GT, this car has extraordinary engine details. There are lots of cables and hoses that have glue residue spilling out. I've been wondering, is this really from the factory or is it from my reseller who does the repair? Now that I remember, when I unboxed the AutoArt diecast, I still had the wire holding the hood still neat. Maybe this is because it's handmade?

Vielen dank gentlemen! I own two of these (blue and black) and was mystified why the panel wasn’t freely moving. Being an Autoart this removable engine cover differentiates the model from the very impressive Minichamps version of which I have a few as well.

In 2022 now, I'm still searching for this model in yellow. This beast was my first RC model gifted by my dad and I love it ever since!

My big issue with this car are the front wheels. The concave shouldn’t be there, the real 918 wheels basically have a flat fascia.
