Huh, interesting to see the A model of the f14 taking off in what looks like mil power

No, it's in burner. You have to look carefully to see the cans open up, but it definitely goes combat power.

Wow, this is surreal; I got recommended this video and realized my Dad may have been in the back of one of the Tomcats taking off. Was a RIO in VF-32 on this cruise. Thank you for sharing!

Why does the F/A-18 say VFA-105?
@ILSRWY4 Жыл бұрын
V stands for "Fixed-wing navy" the F stands for "Fighter" and the A stands for "Attack." so VFA or Fixed-wing Navy Fighter Attack squadron. Since the F-18 is billed as both Fighter and Attack (F/A-18) the squadron reflects that mission. VFA. And `105" is just the i.d. number of that particular VFA squadron.

He’s a legend. And the nicest guy you’ll ever know. He deserves respect. He is a sell out throughout the country when he tours, not too shabby at 81.

We started that cruise in the med and stopped in Naples, Italy. We were not off the ship a few hours and they called us all back and sent the ship to the Persian gulf. What a day that was.

This looks like the 92/93 Med cruise. I was part of VF-32 Swordsman in their ordnance department. I also served on the arm/de-arm team. Lots of good memories.

1:19 Sorry that Status board flew out of my hands. Quite embarrassing. Last minute makeshift piece of white acrylic. as soon as i got back to flight deck control i think Senior chief Mims slapped the back of my head and laughed.
