Super Vishweshji… I would like to add the following : Malkauns or Hindola is one of the simple scale Raaga but one of the most powerful raaga that evokes calmness and a sort of enjoyment… it is as if everybody knows the notes like no other .. even to many layman … with simple aarohana and same avarohana .. has made it very usable and popular raaga… Always remember my Dad asking for this to be played and he used to enjoy it like a child savoring the most desirable sweet to hearts content … magic Malkauns .. one of my all time favourite raaga.. Never fails to make an impact .. It is my belief that the dexterity of the artist is in how he/ she is able to make the impact with the audience in making the simplest of the ragas more appealing than showing the skills of a complex raga that is inherently rich by virtue of it’s notes … case to point is Raga Shivaranjani that has the beautifully positioned Komal Gandhaar which even the most inexperienced artiste can evoke an impact at first hearing….
