That's good. That guitar player is really on top it and some of those synth effects are interesting given they were using a $100k synth back then.

Nice job, except the solo (understandable). You nailed the sound. Was it all amp or using effects? And congratulations on owning the original it at 13. You should thank your parents til this day. My only access to it was viewing it on guitar magazine ads. Its a beauty. Do you think the dimensions of the replica is exactly the same, or off a little?

It's just sliiiiightly longer than my DT155 so I would say the dimensions are spot on. The signal chain is: Compressor, EQ, RAT pedal (boosted distortion), slight chorus and slight delay, running to a Marshall amp with gain set to "8", EQ on "5", presence on "7", reverb set to "5".

@@chriskilcullen Thanks for the effects configuration. I've seen the Demartini Charvel (there is a difference) and Sambora Kramer replicas offered also. Steve Clark is missed, he was came up with a lot of the riffs and I think after he died they went into the vault and redid his work for some following releases. As far as Vivian Campbell, love his work with Dio and was happy when they brought him on board with the group, but I feel he's not being utilized properly or he's being restricted.

Surprisingly excellent build. Materials are better than most. Look at the mother of pearl on the neck. Binding that goes not only around the body but up the neck and around the headstock. Pickups sound decent and it stays in tune (in this video I do a pretty big plunge on the wammy bar along with a lot of tremolo work and it stays in tune). It's not an actual Floyd Rose tremolo. It's probably the lowest quality aspect of the guitar. All in all? Thumbs up.

I saw that interview as well and was surprised when he started talking about his modifications. But did he do the modifications before or after recording Pyromania? I wonder because the music video clearly shows what looks to be OEM Maxon Super 70s? Regardless, I was starstruck by the guitar. 🙂
