Will the Vocal tuning be good for In-Ears? For instance if I’m singing and I want to hear my bandmates tuned but hear myself not tuned and vise versa
@MichaelCurtisAudio
@MichaelCurtisAudio 13 күн бұрын
In that specific case the easiest workaround would be to double patch your vocals, one with tuning, one without. Then your monitor engineer can route the tuned/un-tuned vocal to whatever Aux for IEMs the performer would like.

Nice job on the comparisons, just one comment about external power supplies. If you are running multiple units you always want to use an antenna distro, and with the Shure UA844 you can power the receivers from the distro (up to 4 units). That way you only need one external power supply, not 5 (assuming 4 receivers).

Hi Robert! Thanks for your question. The UBL12H has 5 operational modes: Auto Run, Program Mode, Sound Trigger, RGBAL+UV Manual, and DMX-512 Mode. Manual control can be accomplished by using either the included IR remote controller, or by using the control panel on the back of the light. Do you need a drive and crossover when using a digital mixer?
@soundpro1973
@soundpro1973 Ай бұрын
Hi! Digital consoles do offer parametric EQ and dynamic processing in compressors and limiters on each output, which allow you to control or tune your PA system for the room. But, the processing on board isn't necessarily intended to be a full PA system processor and crossover. It is still recommended to have a digital PA processor, or if you're still running analog outboard gear, a crossover, EQ and graphic EQ in line between your mixer and amplifiers or powered speakers. Awesome video, great job. I have a question regarding the IP8 that’s a little off topic. Would you happen to know how to get it connected to the mix rack rather than the surface? At the moment I have it connected to the network port on the mix rack and configured on using the S500 surface. However, when I shut down my S500 the IP8 also goes out.

Thanks for your question! There’s no way to have a redundant mixrack since it is the mixer. There is redundancy built in to power supplies and surface connections to the mixrack on the S Class systems, and any I/O boxes connected to them, but if you had a mixrack go down there would be no mixer. You were talking about switching from the Dante to the Analog input on wireless. Is there enough sonic advantage to go with the Dante input if it's prone to possible failure? I have always plugged in via analog since I don't own any units that have Dante outputs.
@MichaelCurtisAudio
@MichaelCurtisAudio 2 ай бұрын
I'd say any workflow that exists in the "real world" is prone to possible failure - it just depends on what variables in the possible signal chains you trust most and what is most critical to the show. The "safest" (least variables) would be going analog out of the wireless unit directly into the console IO, then the console IO feeding speakers. That would bypass a stagebox or any network audio transport protocol altogether. But since wireless units often live near the stage, we're almost always using a stagebox of some kind. And now more and more shows have a built in network structure and needing sources to feed multiple destinations, audio over IP isn't going away anytime soon. By going Dante you are more easily able to pick off those Dante outs from the wireless and send them other places - a monitor console, a comm unit for IFB feeds, broadcast desks, etc. You could go analog first, but then would use tie lines to other destinations to make that happen. Bottom line, we can't zero out risk, but we can help mitigate it by having a backup.

@@eflizotte With the RUFX card the dLive has 64 variable busses (which can be assigned to a main bus, PFL, auxes, groups, matrices, and "normal" fx buses) PLUS eight additional stereo RUFX buses that are dedicated to the eight RUFX slots. I think the video you seek is one about mixing drums. This one clearly says the purpose of the video in the title was my first context clue that perhaps I would see something only adjacent to the mixing elements, which vary by not only equipment quality but in many cases it has a lot to do with the individual that makes the decisions about what to do with that equipment. For instance, I might search for a video about how to compress the drum mix properly? I often never see the actual microphones being put onto the drums in those videos? 🤔 Why, now that I think about it, would you be a sweety and go to all of those videos and let them know that they must have magical equipment if they aren't showing any of the microphones? Thank you. I am so glad we had this chance to chat here on someone's video that was so respectful to title their video about precisely what was shown. How dare those others just assume all these drums come with all these microphones attached and never add that fact to their titles. I am just livid about this and will leave them a stern comment backing you up when you get all them commented on Fren.
