++Space Cowboy Bad sound balance, drowning out the vocals. I think probably the vocals were pretty good, and like you, I always said that Lauren was a fine singer on Idol 10, even though I thought Haley was definitely the tops. It was bloody awful the things some people were saying about Lauren just because she beat Haley and some other contestants. She is a very good singer. Although she doesn't sing much Country, this kind of Country song I could imagine Haley really giving this one the works. In fact, I think Haley ought to consider adding some Country songs to her repertoire. I'm not a Country fan, especially of the tear-jerking big ballads, but some of the Country songs have a real get up and go quality to them. I can just imagine Haley reworking and really rocking them. She certainly CAN sing Country - Blue, Gun Powder 'n' Lead, and possibly House of the Rising Sun (which has become a popular Country song despite the Animals' Rock/Blues version) show that. Some of the songs are good, and can always be given a different kind of backing and arrangement if you want to avoid the "same old Country" feel with the fiddles and slide guitar backings.
