Epic fail on both closets, just be glad this wasnt 20 years ago when i was there lmfao 😊
@Madmac967 ай бұрын
There should be a latch on your closet doors to keep the left ones from opening. That's the only way the lock will work.

Wow they got it made now, up on Casey 39er, we froze an a stayed in a bunker, with an old mogas stove for heat and we had all of our chow an such delivered by helos as the road was impassable due to snow! But I would not exchange those times, we had a blast!

Hmm, similar design to what we had on Casey back in 08 and 14. They had us sharing those bedrooms though. So it was like 4 dudes to a bathroom. I do not miss that base.
@jamimixon138 Жыл бұрын
I was here 4 years ago. It’s a nice small cool base. It not as huge as Humphrey’s but it’s still stuff to do.

A lot different than the shitty barracks I lived in back in the 90's! Lol good for you guys in today's modern army that you get a room to yourself and don't have community showers
@garyjudy29232 жыл бұрын
You guys are living large compared to what we had in the early 70's. You guys don't have a clue how we lived and they didn't have any girls in the 2nd division back then. Wow! inside bathrooms when we had Quonset huts with a diesel heater in the middle of it with about 15 guys living in it. We had to go outside to the latrine. The road to Seoul was a two-lane dirt road. No cars were seen and the Koreans washed their clothes in the river on rocks.

Thank God for progress because we I was stationed over there in 89-90, the rooms looked nothing like that!! No bathrooms in the rooms or kitchenettes!! Had a microwave in the dayroom and that was it... couldn't have microwaves in our rooms...

Are there still Mess Halls on Army Bases? Are the free to eat there or is it all Pay for what you order? So much has changed since I was in 50 yrs ago, I was at Casey 73-74

When I was in Korea in 73 74 I was just of the DMZ living in an uninsulated Quonset hut seeing my breath every morning in the winter no latrine in the barracks peeing outside in the middle of the night. Thought I had it good because I wasn’t ducking bullets in Vietnam. My hats off to the Vietnam vets thanks for your service.

Your post brings back memories... Lived in an uninsulated Quonset hut too with our latrine in the next building. Worked JAG and was alternately attached to 1/72 Armor, 2/72 Armor, 5/20th infantry and Headquarters and headquarters company (HHC). 2 ID HQ was across the street from the helipad and main JAG office. Looks like a Holiday Day Inn now. PFCs living better than SFCs now.

That looks almost exactly like the room I was I was living in when I was stationed at Camp Hovey during 2002 to 2003 and I had room mate. I guess they used that same barracks layout for Army lower enlisted across different barracks in Korea. I think the cabinets and closet doors were the same color too. The only difference was we had a tub/shower combination and the bathroom floor tile I think was some sort of tan or brown color.

These rooms are absolute luxury from the barracks we lived in. On the inside of our lockers was a diagram of our lockers and drawer layout, no variations allowed. Times have changed.
