There’s a triple-expansion vertical engine about 15 minutes away from the museum that’s about 4 times the size. Mike Piersa, the curator you hear explaining the engine’s operation, coordinates a visit to the engine maybe once a year.

I used too live a block away from a very busy train yard and crossing, trains was all I heard all day everyday for 4 years, took awhile to get used too but when I moved, trying to get to sleep took awhile because it was so quiet. I miss the Trains.

We were up there (from Texas) a few years ago to visit our friend, Scott (The Last Anthracite Photographer), who showed us around the railroad and Tamaqua, and introduced us to a lot of people. We had a grand time thanks to Scott and the wonderful folks of the RBMN and Tamaqua!
