If it is country, then it is country. If it ain't, then playin it twice or selling a platinum don't make it so. It helps to have a little dirt under your boots to tell the difference. Yeah, and a can of corn.

I have to agree with many here. Met Chris when he first moved to TX! Felt he was a friend then and will greatly miss him and his wit and his wonderful songs and the twinkle in his eye! He gave me the best afternoon with my Dad years ago! Was one of the best memories of us doing something my Dad loved! Listening to C&W ( or (CW in this case), live and being able to have my Dad meet Chris. Dad said ‘ he REALLY enjoyed that’! And he meant it. So glad we were able to have that experience. Chris, my friend, you are truly missed.

What country used to be. He avoided the Reba song mills and resultant canned country crap pushed out by Nashville over the past twenty years.

I see him and I think "friend," though I hadn't spoken to him in a decade. Now the world seems emptier without him--without the access to the truth he provided us. RIP, Chris.

I'm in Austin for one last night before heading up to Fort Worth to see Dwight Yoakum tomorrow night. Going to see this lovely lady at the Little Longhorn Saloon tonight - can't wait to hear a female voice. Love her on these KZbin videos.

I'm 72 and British and was watching some "20 Favourity Album's" listing's and came up with my own. I then got to thinking out of everyone in the World, who would I like to see 'live'. I could only think of "Chris Wall" and if I had to choose 2 Artist's, Id choose Chris with a band & Chris Solo. Just Luuuuuvvvvv how he tell's story's to music. Also got a nice "laid back" vocal.

I think for the most part we were lucky the world didn't take Slim from us. Slim was Slim and there is not another. What you see and hear in James is the real deal, no smoke or mirrors no big production, just pure country music that came from deep in the soul and heart of the greatest "true" country Troubadour who ever lived. I am honored we were pals for 52 years . Love and Respect to my Pal, Until we meet again
