The Walking Horror Movie of The MCU that is, Bucky Barnes

this is one of the only themes I vividly remember from back when I first watched the movie, especially the motif with the pitched-up scream. it really gave the character a layer of mystery and eerieness

I love this theme song so much, not only just because it fits perfectly with his character as it is, but it honestly tells the story of the winter soldier. Starting with bucky’s scream of terror when he fell from the train, to the sounds of him slowly becoming a machine, to the sounds of his missions, and it ends with bucky’s scream, except this time, the scream is from coming from inside the winter soldier. Bucky was a prisoner of his own mind.

this theme is perfect for bucky cause if he wants you dead, no matter how high up you are in social standing you're gonna die. this sounds like a horror theme cause in the same world as winter soldier is definitely like a horror film you never know where he is, you cant hear him, he can be in your damn neighborhood for all you know imagine living in a time where you're anxious 24/7 cause the winter soldier could be in your city ready to terrorize the area, then vanish

Although I usually love Alan sylvester's score, and I liked Infinity War for the most part, why is it that? Thanks to this theme and the The relentless efficient brutality of the Winter Soldier made for a much more threatening and imposing antagonists than Thanos himself? One, because the shift in tone from serious steaks involving government conspiracies and supervillains arising because of it Or just in response to all the various machinations they were getting up to since Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, and Thor all surfaced on Earth, And juxtapositioning that with a early 2000s world where arms, races and crime waves were growing to an all-time high and societal strife And endless warfare overseas/ military corruption was The Paramount Factor in it all, jacked up even more so when Loki not only sent the Destroyer To wreak havoc on that small town in New Mexico, thus exposing as guardians and thus the existence of higher beings to humanity at large, but then also leading the Chitauri on behalf of Thanos on an all-out war on New York, the likes of which hadn't been seen since 9, 11 or any other prior terrorist attack or massacre, taking it very seriously with albeit choice and impactful moments of clarity, and then we just completely shifted into the satirical And pretty much parodic guardians brought to the table and made that the general formula by having literally every movie have the same stupid ass Bad joke and banter dominated approach, I mean, sure, the first half of phase 3 took the villains mostly seriously, and I will give it to them, they still have Good dramatic moments, but overall you can just tell the influence of guardians is a stain that just won't come off and it's overstayed it's welcome And Two, The Russo Bros did both this movie and Infinity War, so there was absolutely no reason It shouldn't have been darker and far more impactful on the MCU narrative as A whole, considering that Winter Soldier Not only was consistently bleak Aunt game-changing all throughout, even with small jokes garnished in, but the fallout and significant changes to The narrative lasted a good long while, shield never really got back to its form or glory, The Avengers were left at a disadvantage due to Steve and Tony's distrust of each other still not being fully put aside and only boiling over with the reveal that Bucky killed Howard and Maria , even though it was forced on him by Hydra, Plus Tony's guilt over the damage Ultron caused to the world and the public opinion and government response being the Sokovia Accords pretty much just turning his and Steve's principal standing to pretty much flat out opposition, which then seemed completely glossed over throughout the interim movies in Phase 3 The point of this long ass spiel is, why did Bucky brainwashed into a cold robotic assassin feel like far more of a threat and a fearsome presence than Thanos, a millennium old alien warlord whose machinations mixed with Loki's own pretty much redefined the name of the game for the story up until he directly engaged the heroes come Infinity War? Why did It not feel as impactful Or altering as everything Hydra does here? Easy, executive meddling on Disney and Kevin feige's behalf, absolute wrong choice of directors, And overall just completely forgetting what Phases Uno and Deus so special in the first place by inverting the established tone, obviously because of Disney's superficial family-friendly brand And perspective flip I want the tone And steaks and ominous apocalyptic feel Winter Soldier had in Infinity War, s'what I'm saying

This track is one of the reasons this movie was the best in the franchise.

This composer (Henry Jackman) is the same guy that gave us that badass Magneto theme in First Class.

the first part of the theme doesn't even sound like music, it sounds like ambiance that makes you feel like you're not alone, like someone is watching you, waiting, planning, and i love it.

This sounds like what it feels to disaccociate. Part of you screaming for help. The other part telling you they can not save you.

I still think that this is the best Captain America movie of the bunch. :3.

This is, to this day, one of the only few (less than seven) Marvel villains I truly feared. This theme, the fact that he’s a ruthlessly efficient killing machine, the fact that pain doesn’t even do anything outside of annoying him, everything.
