Musicians like Cardinal Jim Rex Lawson of blessed memory sang in his native Kalabari Ijo dialect, English, Yoruba, Ibo, Efik etc. A musician who is a polyglot could sing in many languages to widen his appeal. In some Wakirike communities, Okrika-Igbo is spoken for several reasons especially intertribal marriages. Wakirike people who reside in these communities are often fluent in their Igbo dialect.
