Cool concept teach. I just want the old red/white, wooden, jointed musky plugs to be available. They were deadly!

Excellent tutorial. I'm learning and this helped tremendously! Question: Would you ever spray a lighter color in the opposite direction for more definition?
@hashimotoconcepts8 ай бұрын
Absolutely! They only dangers of doing to much back and forth, is it can muddy the paint in that little area of the scale if you are not careful. Otherwise absolutely, you can create lots of cool effects that way.

Take the stickers off the table man. The focus going out the entire video makes it unwatchable! Scales look cool though. 😉

Grettings,wonderful job on lures,what I want to ask,is it ok to use on same lure 2 different manufacturers of airbrush color,for example base coat of black Createx,and then continue to use Valejo series of tones over Createx base color.
@hashimotoconcepts9 ай бұрын
Yes that is absolutely okay as long as everything being used is water based. I use autoborrne sealer, createx paint, Vallejo color shift and then clear it

Think this would work on spinner blades? Wondering how I could get it pulled tight????
@hashimotoconcepts10 ай бұрын
Yes I have done the same thing on blades as well. Pull the mesh tight and clip it on the inside of the blade. I used to do it on 1” willow blades

Great info and thanks for sharing. Once you start paining I would suggest that the you lock the focus if you can and do your work in the focus area (more light helps to widen the focal point) So much of this video you were struggling with the focus and it was very difficult to watch. Here is a tip I learned in the graphics industry if you're having problems with paint crawling under your stencil or mask, you can spray clear first this will fill in the small gaps and prevent the color from crawling under. Great illustration of the technique thanks again.

So to get the scales going in the right direction, you want to hold your lure by the tail, and spray down the body towards the head of the lure, right? (Since your examples don't have a head or tail, I just want to make sure my scales are going in the proper direction).
@hashimotoconcepts Жыл бұрын
If you are spraying a shadow for the effect (dark color like sepia) it’s tail to head. If you want to highlight over a dark color ( pearl or lighter colors) go head to tail. You want to keep the dark tones facing the head and the light tones facing the tail. Thank you for watching!

If painting spinners can you use the createx water based paint? And do you spray on sealer with the airbrush?
@hashimotoconcepts3 жыл бұрын
I have sprayed willow blades, and I used createx and dipped in 3 coats of kbs diamond clear. I have underspins that I did 2 seasons ago that have held up. Best option would be to powder coat or something along that line. However createx works fine, just make sure to scuff the surface with sandpaper first. Clear coats I use are either dip or brush. I don’t spray any. That’s preference though, many people airbrush or use rattle can with great success. Somethingthat can be used on small blades is a good clear coat nail polish. I have a instant set clear that dries in a few seconds and is clear and rock hard when set. Hope this helps, let me know how it goes! Good luck

What do you use for clear coat? And how do you apply it?

Water based acrylics are easily removed by isopropyl alcohol You can honestly just throw it in some water and leave it for a while, swish it around later and solids will come off Waste not, want not
@hashimotoconcepts3 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. I was trying to get across that the dried paint will transfer so as to not just throw it on your next project. I use small pieces so I discard it, however you are absolutely right and I should have made more specifications as to how to reuse should you want to. Thank you for watching and adding constructive criticism.
@jrich4363 жыл бұрын
@@hashimotoconcepts no criticism just wanted people to know how to reuse or in general strip water based paint Thanks for the videos, look forward to painting some lures in the future
