Great info. I grew up as an athlete in short sprint type sports. Now turning 40 soon and trying to get into longer distance running over the last year. I have been stuck with my aerobic endurance, and lactate threshold being too low. Just a 25 min 5K will have me at 180+ heart rate, and a 2.5hr Half Marathon being very difficult for me. Hopefully some of this information will help me build a better aerobic base. Great conversation guys, thanks for sharing.

I listened to this POD and I recently listened to the Max King one and bro - a little constructive criticism - you have to ask a question and then let the guest answer. You ask a question, then elaborate on it, then answer the question a bit for them, then elaborate some more, and then let your guest speak. Just ask the question quickly and let the guest be the star of the show! Again - great job and great guests but just my opinion.

As Sandi's twin sister, I still love learning from her year after year. (And sorry for Pacer barking in the background...she got excited when I dropped her off and saw Sage!)

Thanks for making this podcast!! I am a 16 (soon to be 17) year old and I will be running The Bear 100 this year. I will be running with my mom. It will be my first 100 miler. I enjoyed listening to your experience. I hope I’ll see you this fall!

I used TRACER to train for a marathon and set a PR. I'm 55 and have been running for 15+ years and am running my fastest times at all distances. I understand the purpose behind each type of run when training but got better results using a coach with TRACER then I have on my own for the past 15 years. Also it was the first time I trained for a race without needing to go to PT or a Chiropractor due to an injury. No training program on the internet or book can match TRACER. Using technology to make personal training available and affordable is ingenious.

Great question! Our current programs are geared more towards running rather than weighted packing, but there is definitely a correlation between running fitness and hiking strength. If you meet the prerequisites, the Max King Mountain Base Training plan would definitely build your strength and endurance for hiking. Follow us for future programs that are specific to hiking!
