Which cloth is best for ribbon embroidery
@RisasEmbroideryChest8 ай бұрын
You can use any cloth (even organza) if you use silk ribbons as the ribbons are smooth and can enter the cloth easily. However, if you use satin ribbons, you’ll need a sturdier cloth but not very thick as the ribbons are thicker and more difficult to pull through. Please watch my videos on Satin ribbon embroidery.

Hello Risa, thanks for this video. To make the shoes, did you put graph paper (with the design on it) over cotton? Or is it tracing paper and a different fabric?
@RisasEmbroideryChest9 ай бұрын
I used graph paper on the fabric with design on it. As it’s easier to count the squares. You can also use canvas used for cross stitch and just count the squares. Check out my review of this book for more tips on materials and designs.
@@RisasEmbroideryChest thanks so much for your response. I messaged that place about buying the book but they didn't respond. I want to learn how to bead peranakan style and I'm finding little online about the actual materials used and technique.

I feel it's unfair to give a thumbs down and not say why. In my opinion, the video feels frantic. The narration is too fast. It doesn't sound like natural speech. Coupled with the accelerated pace of the footage, it feels rushed, in my opinion.

So pleased you mentioned that it had taken six months to complete due to work commitments/life now I don't feel as bad when I take months to complete a project. They aren't nearly to this level though!! I loved the look of the heart at the end of the video on the top right of your desk.
@RisasEmbroideryChest10 ай бұрын
Yes this took a long time to finish and I felt guilty for not being able to upload a new video on the channel as frequently as needed. It was difficult to come back to the embroidery after a long break. What helped was to aim to finish one embroidery element at a time.
@julienz619610 ай бұрын
I'm only partway through and really enjoying watching you do this stump work embroidery. The whip stitch around the stem stitch gave a very stem like appearance. How clever to think to add extra beds to the strawberries once you had sewed them on as this covered the printed pattern perfectly. The different camera angles are brilliant to see what you are doing - thanks
