I got to see their last show in Phoenix last year! Petrucci slipped in 'wish upon a star' in the middle of the 'Count of Tuscany' solo and it was so damned tasty.

I dream a group with the following lineup: Akerfeldt/Townsend vocals and guitars, Petrucci and or Abasi on guitars, Jordan Rudess, John Myung on the bass (or total different style with Billy Sheehan) and Mike Portnoy behind the drums. I’d be the happiest guy on Earth.

I feel a little sorry for LaBrie, honestly. He's had a rough go, with his vocal cord damage when he was younger, and the difficulty of the DT songs in general. I'm not saying people are wrong to criticise his performance per se, but it must be rough to see someone else sing with your band and do it the way you used to be able to. If I were him, I would like to believe I'd bow out gracefully, but I don't know if I could. People should cut the guy some slack. Devin is still a living legend, with all that said.

Knowing Labrie’s vocal struggles, it must’ve been a relief when Devin vouched for him in those parts.

DT could extend the band's life another 10+ years if they wanted to with Devin as lead singer. His vocals are unmatched. Time for James to graciously bow out for the sake of the band.
