Mine the sound for reverse is forward and the sound for forward is reverse I’m hoping this will fix it

I got the Duel ESS hooked up to my TRX6, but I'm running into a snag of not being able to get into calibrate mode? Do I need to be on default sound 1? Is there a trick that I'm missing?

so looking at this video it looks like you need to have the red, black, white going into the s-link usb adapter... my ess dual+ has two connectors, that one which is now connected and closed in the transmitter housing, and a single yellow wire with a jack on it which is decidedly not working to connect to PC. feel like now I have to take the thing apart to get the 3 wire connector hooked up to the USB.. wish I watchd this video first lol

Question for someone I have the ESS-Dual + and after I calibrate it all it does is beep nonstop until I unplug the sound system, does anyone know why it does this?

I am not having any luck calibrating this. It just beeps when I press it. Then nothing. Press again, beep, press again beep. No luck, why’d they make this damn thing so complicated.

Thanks for the great vid. I have the TRX-4 Defender and had to mount my ESS on the front of that rear bracket just above the battery lock. The Defender body had trouble going on with it rear mounted. Great vid, again.

I was able to remove the smaller ball bearing by tapping the portal cover onto a table. Less likely to damage it that way.

When i open the application up the only thing i can see is home and local sounds. There is no store option to preview new sounds. Got any idea why this is?

Great video and very helpful. It’s worth noting that you have to press the + button WHILE you’re finger is pressing the trigger to save each step. Excluding neutral obviously since it requires no trigger action 👍

The battery connector on the Ess comes with a Deans plug. How did u end up plugging things into the Traxxas ID connector on the esc. U didn’t show that. Thanks.

I just bought mine we have done the calibration and still no sound coming when you pull the throttle, do I need to download a sound from the website or dose it come with sounds preloaded on it

Great video. I calibrated my trx4 on esc mode 5, with high gear engaged on my controller. Now when I drive mode 5 with low gear engaged, I can slowly crawl without hitting high rev sound. Like for scale crawling purposes, you really want a low lug lug lug when moving slowly. The alternative is you go over a scale speed bump and it sounds like your tryna blow the motor up. 😆 Hopefully that helps

Hi. Very informative, thanks. I have a TRX4 and fitted one. The wire from the ESC and wire from the ESS melted on power up. Not sure what went wrong. Anyway, ESS busted and new ESC needed. Any idea what I could have done wrong? I want to get another one but want to have the confidence it will not happen again. Thanks.

I know it's been a year since your comment but I just saw it. Did you figure out what happened? I suspect either your ESC was already damaged and this just finished it, or you didn't connect things properly. I did this install and now issues. But when I did an install of a Traxxas branded stronger steering servo, that killed my ESC and burned the negative wire entirely like you described. That was after my stock motor burned out, so I suspect that motor frying weakened my ESC.
