Shadow Man is the reason I tell people remotely interested in MM3 to just follow one of the recommended bosses order or at least make an exception and look up what his weakness is. I've done buster only but I get the feeling you're always in a 50/50 situation even if the spacing seems correct. Maybe he's the most rng robot master in the game? Still, he's one the coolest MM3 robot masters. Nice showcase btw, I just replayed the game and came across your video.
@BegUltra2 ай бұрын
@@naxoxz I agree, Shadow Man is one of the hardest Robot Masters but at the same time one of the coolest. His randomness is his attacks: he can randomly choose between sliding or throwing stars. Also one more thing is random: how high/or low his jumps are going to be. Btw, this video of mine is pretty old, if you check my other videos you'll see I've also defeated him by using much aggressive strats. When it comes to the safest strategy to use in order to defeat him damageless (this video we're commenting was very much luck based), it means sliding under him (under his 3rd jump, to be precise), in order to prevent him from cornering you and keeping him in the middle (or in the other half) of the room as much as possible. If he's at least half room away, you have enough time to wait and see if he's gonna slide or throw stars, to which then you can respond accordingly (instead of relying on luck and just jumping over him hoping he'll slide). That is the best strategy but even that is not bulletproof, because he can choose and do a short 3rd jump which means he'll land on you, or just after you. So the damage is either 100% unavoidable or almost unavoidable (96-97%). So at the end you always have to rely on luck with him no matter what strat and how skilled you are. But still, the chance that he'll do a low 3rd jump is still a bit lower than the chance he'll slide when he corners you. The latest video of Shadow Man I did a few days ago, it's not meant to go public yet which is why it's still an unlisted video, but you can have an exclusive look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4W6ZquprL5ohqcsi=ZTJf7LPwZPHBgEOE

Do you plan on doing the whole entire Mega Man 8 bit series and or potentially just all Mega Man in general? I'm banging my head against a wall trying to do the Legacy Collection challenges and I enjoy watching shit I'm failing at get destroyed, it's cathartic lolol.
@BegUltra4 ай бұрын
@@perplexasaurusrex6217 yup :) I'm planning to do them all. 1-6, 9-10, and 7FC/8FC. Hopefully meanwhile we get MM Bass and MM11 in 8 bits, I'd do them too. Btw, the things I'm planning to do from the games are: bosses (all Robot Masters, or all of game's bosses) buster only no damage (or +no miss no slide, if applicable), all stages (or Robot Master stages), buster only no damage, and at least two buster runs of all games: one is kind of speedrun, with intentional damage, and the other would be a chill run, with as less damage as possible and killing most or all of the enemies. I'm currently uploading MM4 but all the videos are already done, I only need to upload them, MM5 and MM3 are already done and uploaded, aaaand MM1 is also all done (will be uploaded after MM4), I only have one more video of MM1 to record (currently working on it). After I'm done with that one video, it's 4 NES games done. Then MM2 is the next one. After MM2, I'll just do the rest in order: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (eventually 11FC and Bass)
@perplexasaurusrex62174 ай бұрын
@BegUltra hell yeah, you're crushing it and got a nice plan for what's ahead, too. That's awesome. Seeing no hits + buster only gives me a little bit of confidence back to pick the challenge runs back up. I just have 3 to 6 (no items), all bosses (no items), and disappearing blocks (no items) left and that will be all 50 Gold Challenges done. But I had to take a rage break, it's beyond tilting that one mistake and it's just off the rails, or at least that's how it feels.

I'm glad it brought you some good memories, my man :) Yeah, I'm familiar with Roahm, did watch all his buster only no damage videos, awesome stuff :) Needle Man is definitely among top 10 hardest classic Robot Masters. But MM3 is my favorite, so I practiced the hell out of it. Btw, I'm doing similar things like Roahm, but my goal is not to use the safest strategies, it's actually to play stylish and at the same time buster only no damage :) You can find all MM5 stages (as well as bossfights) buster only no damage at my channel, as well as most of MM3 bossfights. I'm currently uploading the same kind of videos from MM4 (got them all recorded, just uploading one by one slowly), and also MM1 videos are almost done, they're coming after MM4.
