I Know that John Denver didn't write this song, but he did write many. In my opinion he was one of the greatest writers in the USA. His songs made sense and you did'nt have to try to figure his meaning and they were beautiful. Annies song is a good example.

In Vietnam basecamp, I had an AKAI tape recorder. When the team came in for debriefing, resupply & rest, we would play The Doors with water glasses to the brim of whatever libations we could get our hands on. Jim was attending UCLA while I was USC. RIP, Jim. Army 67/68, Tet. 🤠 🫡
