Hi Alix, Canned goods (or other packaged goods) do not have expiration dates in the U.S. Expiration dates refer to the safety of the food, while other dates are related to the quality or freshness of the food. There are 4 types of dates you might see on packaged goods. 1) A "Sell-By"" date tells the store how long to display the product for sale. You should buy the product before the date expires. 2) A ""Best if Used By (or Before)"" date is recommended for best flavor or quality. It is not a purchase or safety date. 3) A ""Use-By"" date is the last date recommended for the use of the product while at peak quality. The date has been determined by the manufacturer of the product. 4) ""Closed or coded dates"" are packing numbers for use by the manufacturer. Note -- these dates, especially when applied to canned goods, are quality thresholds, not safety dates. Canned goods will maintain safety indefinitely if the integrity of the can is maintained. The USDA gives somewhat vague guidelines of 2-5 years in a pantry, but these are based on quality. For more information on food dating guidelines and the safety of canned goods, visit NC State Cooperative Extension's Food Safety page. Thanks!

Hi Sucio! A "Sell-By"" date tells the store how long to display the product for sale. You should buy the product before the date expires, but it is not a safety issue to consume milk that is past its sell-by date. From a food safety standpoint, as long as the milk is kept at 41F or below, it will be safe for quite some time. The milk can be served as long as it smells and tastes okay to your family. Hope this helps!

why would anyone want to spray herbicide in a pasture were beef cows are going to be grazing. Wouldn't longtime use of herbicides in the pastures will produce residual herbicides in the organ meats as well as muscle of the cattle?

Weeds? What are weeds? Plants growing in the wrong place. Usually the result of over grazing or pernicious weeds, either invasive or poisonous to animals.Again as a result of human activity. Try control and not irradication. You may not like it but nature and your animals might. Kill of one and it could encourage another. This is a lifetimes work to correct generations of miss management.
