I just picked up a 1999 FUSO FH, and for some reason, the truck doesn't seem to go more than 50-60 mph on the highway. I'm not sure if there's a governor set on it or if there's another reason for this. I've never owned or used a truck before. Any idea what could be causing this, or is it normal?

Very well thought out Chris, My swap is along the same lines what you are after. Great to see the build. I have the same engine in my shop. Just see what I am going to use it for. Was out of a wrecked MB. But engine is great. Had in my S-10, then took it out to go with a Cummins 4bt. Love the serpentine belt over the V belt. The OM617 are Iconic. Million mile engine just like the 6 and 4 bt Cummins. Great engine you have.

Do you repair other people’s wave runners. I’m in Tulsa and I have this exact same one but need a mechanic to get it going. I think it’s the starter button.

I wonder how well this trailer will hold up? Especially the axles. They just seem to cheap to be good. I honestly like the fact that they paint the trailer instead of powder coat. Companys dont sand blast the trailers before powder coating so it peels pretty quick. And powder coat is really hard to sandblast takes 3x to blast off compared to paint.

Finally a human review. Thanks for posting Chris, best of luck with your channel! Lithium Iron Phosphate ( LiFePO4) Batteries are amazing and safe. Not for automotive use yet ( they don't like freezing temps and don't have cranking amps), but for off grid use they are amazing and the price is dropping all the time. Where do you order the parts for your truck?
@chrisbasilebuilds6 ай бұрын
@@jackschb3901 the place I went through was in Oklahoma City (I’m in tulsa) it’s called truck and trailer fuso truck dealer. Their parts department was amazing. They drop shipped everything I wanted straight to my house and their prices were fair. Once I realize there wasn’t a dealer in my city I was kind of bummed but at least the dealer that’s local is pretty good so I got lucky.

My 1997 Lexus LS 400 330k miles was running perfectly fine until the cold weather. When I turn my key to on position the check engine light does not come on thus it will not start. Would this be ECU for sure? Anything else to try? I’m just a girl so any help would be appreciated. I have opened up that damn glove box to get to it but dang! I check all fuses and all ok. I do not know how to check the relays. I tried to pull one out and it broke plastic housing. What’s the trick to get those relays out to check them?
@chrisbasilebuilds8 ай бұрын
There’s a service on eBay that does exchanges on the ecu. If you’re not comfortable doing the repair. I don’t recommend messing with relays for no reason
@High-Vibrational-Alignment8 ай бұрын
@@chrisbasilebuilds so I sprayed every single electrical component with QD electrical spray that I could find inside the engine bay, & near the ECU behind glove box and surrounding areas, tested all relays, tested fuses, pulled them out and reinstalled. Left car alone for 3 days, came back…it cranked right up and has been going ever since so over a month now. Knock on wood. 340k miles and counting.

As far as a tongue box you can maybe use ammo cans and weld a plate across and bolt them on it. That’s what I did with my utility trailer, nice and water proof and put two on mine to put a jack and extra lug nuts and straps.

I'm interested in why you would not run more than 10 minutes, with the aftermarket CDI box please elaborate. Rev limiter is not a concern
@chrisbasilebuilds8 ай бұрын
You (could) run it as much as you wanted. What I meant was for my purposes it wouldn’t get used more than 10-15 minutes at a time. People taking turns riding it at the beach on our lake. No one was gonna ride miles on it. That’s what I meant
