I believe Scroop is more the main villain than a henchman. Because Captain John Silver does turn evil first but then later becomes good thanks to Jim. so he’s not a villain after that moment.

A comic moment with Toht: in Marion's presence, Toht appears to be taking out a torture implement which has her recoiling in fear, until it's revealed to be nothing more than a coat hanger. I remember the audience laughing at that twist!

Ronald was a brilliant character who played lots of creepy characters. Often in those old ITC classics. "Raiders" may have been his most famous and iconic role, but I remember him in loads of other films and TV episodes. Some practically forgotten, like ITV's short run Sci Fi spoof, "The Adventures of Don Quick". I think the only existing episode can be viewed on KZbin. His daughter Rebecca became an actress too, and appeared in "Holby City" among other things

Yeah, it’s really funny the odd numbered Indiana Jones films had Nazis while the even numbered films were other types (The Thuggee Kali Cult in 2 and the Soviets in 4)

Ronald Lacey was really the genius who created the Toht character as we know him. The line between evil and comical is pulled off perfectly. He was also in How I Won The War with John Lennon. There’s a photo or two of Lennon giving a young (and blond) Lacey a haircut (look it up!) Thanks for the video!

What I like about Scroop is that he is a rare example of the henchman being MORE evil than the main villain. The henchmen have often been tricked or forced into helping the main villain. Sometimes it is revealed that they are in fact good-natured people (take Kronk from Emperors New Groove). Silver despite his flaws shows redeeming qualities, Scroop however proves to be irredeemably evil.

He's my favourite villain. Charismatic, photogenic, and impeccable fashion sense. Having said that, he doesn't have much to do in the story. After his initial appearance in Marion's bar, he just kinda hangs around until the big finale.

Ronald Lacey was well known on British TV since the 1960s. "Who's a Good Boy, Then?" was the TV play that launched that catchphrase and whenever we saw Lacey playing any other part we all shouted at the TV" Who's a Good Boy, Then?"😁 His other big role was as the slimey character in the successful TV comedy "Porridge".

Great analysis but I have to pick you up on a few things: it's Reece SHearsmith, not Sir Smith, also Hilary Briss not Bliss (the former being a religious ritual performed on young men - geddit: sausages?!). Hypnosis not hypnosism (not a word) is another one. Mark Gatiss also said in an interview that his surname is pronounced "Gaytiss" which is quite fitting 😊 (I'm sure he wouldn't be offended by that comment) Yes, I'm a pedant but a well meaning one! I loved action man as a kid

Solid video, though one fatal flaw in the "unspeakable choice" Thirteen is given... She really just says "This what I'm gonna do!" and then shirks the choice off onto the player. And even then it isn't a choice because there's only one set ending! Definitely a bit better than what Ashad got... but it effectively boils down to Thirteen just saying "Nahh, kill him."

Something I always wanted from the game was to play as Lightning knights other than Ace, or even swap sides and you could play as the villains, just for something different and have Kilobyte in there too, even have a haunted golf course and or bowling alley, like Rotgut and Googler had, even something more for Anvil and Pigface to do 🤔

Great to see another Ace Lightning video, James! The 26 episode DVD for season 1, which came out in Hong Kong and they had a similar set in Indonesia, I believe is the source for the first set of KZbin uploads, then for Season 2 I found a Russian dub with a network logo, higher quality but its a shame its not in the original language - I hear they were showing Ace on TV in Russia until 2011, or on and off until then, so that's pretty cool

What's intetesting is season 2 uses footage from this game, rather than have the graphics look like they did in season 1, which could be a commercial tie-in, also saves on budget to use animation in that style from the VFX house doing the CGI. Also explains why Rotgut is in season 2 at all as there are zombie cowboy enemies in the game 😂
