MAX MOBILITY WAS THE BEST and the mx2 from 2016 is still the best for me. I also have a new Permobil mx2+ but it's terrible so i swapped the batteries and ill swap the rollers when my mx2 rollers wear out.

i am a C4-5 Quad. I have used a ROHO High profile for almost 40 years. My biggest concern is keeping the correct pressure. Especially when I fly. Can this come with the Smart Check device?

Hi Richard! I'm an American (Indiana) with a C4,5,6 injury from 1980. I'm sixty-eight now and my F5 is around the corner. I too dedicated myself to independence and benefited greatly from an out-of-state surgery (decompression of the cervical spine/ anterior/ posterior fusion) that revived my triceps, biceps, upper body and extremities. I went to college in a manual chair and every free moment rolled my chair in the country, the malls, and wherever the weather permitted. 'Moving Again,' program in Middletown, OH, my wife and I lived there for six months and three days a week I rode an F.E.S. bicycle. Nan Davis, the first to react well to FES stimulation was the Executive Director. They made a Movie about Nan's early days called 'First Steps' w Judd Hirsh (Taxi) and Amy Grant - you'd enjoy it. I was swimming 2.5 miles weekly in Middletown and independently getting myself in and out of the pool. Nan pointed me towards LSU leg braces, and I practiced that for three years. In weather above 64 degrees, I rolled my ridged sports chair 5 miles daily, eleven miles one day a week, my dog(s) alongside, for my first thirteen years. My legs were broken one at a time over the years so standing anymore isn't possible, so far. What we were taught in 1980 and what's going on with SCI's today seem like day and night. Vitamin deficiencies continue to be addressed; post-accident injuries dictate specialized seating on my power chairs, and several bulging discs in my back are painful. I'm sorry your sports career is over, as you knew it and your beautiful family obviously help you overcome. A much younger quadriplegic who's from a neighboring county has a KZbin channel that might benefit you in several ways. He is an overcomer, just like you impress me to be. Mason Ellis is his name, and his parents are so involved in his progress. Since sci injuries no longer spend an average of six months in the hospital learning how to do everything possible, according to their level of injury, Mason's folks videoed his entire hospital experience, for reference. Mason recently graduated college and is living life to the fullest at this point. Keep moving, never lose Hope, and do your best to avoid injury! God Bless You and your Family!

It should be noted that this suspension system does not cushion the bumps. It simply allows the wheels to move up and down to mold to the terrain. It won't absorb shock from hitting cracks or bumps.

I just turned 25 and I’ve sat in TI Lite chairs since I was paralyzed at age 7. They are especially awesome for kids because the pediatric wheelchairs work just like adult/young adult wheelchairs, so youngsters can learn and practice those lifelong wheelchair skills

Poor girls legs have receeded...could, if she got her phy therapist have them grab her legs And move them in a pool? OR ATTACH cords to upper body and at a 30 degree angle have her go up and down ..this way legs get a bit of resistance and her body does go up and down....good for bone density, muscle development and tone and CIRCULATION.....ANYONE IN THIS STATE SHOULD BE PRONE 10 HOURS A DAY FOR HEART, BRAIN, BODY CIRCULSTION, ALEVE BED AND OTHER SORES AND MAYBE BE PUT IN POOL, TAUGHT TO SURVIVAL FLOAT AND LEFT IN POOL 1 HOUR...THIS WOULD HELP LUNGS ..ALL KIND OF THINGS...IF SHE DOES THIS WIIL GUARANTTED BE 80 PERCENT MORE HEALTHY....HARD..YES!!! DOABLE...HELL YES...!!! or be sickly, not take body, circulatory, respiratory systems to max and live with compromised immune and other systems deteriorate slowly until death..or, be fit, look and feel the best possible, SLEEP 100percent better bc worn out ....UP TOYOU, GOOD LUCK, CAN ONLY ADVISE NOT FORCE AS IF IT WERE ME!!.

You have absolutely no idea. Please don’t give out your theoretical advice to long term successful international athlete paraplegics. We love our lives, not wrapped up in cotton wool, but by actively participating in life. I’ve been in a chair for 44 yrs. I am healthy fit and happy. If I followed your advice I would have given up yrs ago.

But the SmartDrive manual says that you should not go through puddles(standing water/slick spots) since the wheel might not gain traction. You have to be careful about the wheel getting caught in sidewalk cracks, how steep hills, curves are. And as far as independence goes, it also says you should, for your safety, have a companion to help you when going over surfaces that are unsafe. So really can it be thought of as letting someone gain more independence? I'm glad to be getting one but was so shocked at the number of surfaces it says not to go on and also about how it is best to have a companion. Many wheelchair users simply do not have companions with them for the simple reason that some people, for whatever reasons, do not want to handle a wheelchair.

The FreeWheel works with both rigid and folding chair and power assist options, you may need an adapter if you have a folding footplate. It's best to get in touch with your local Permobil or Tilite dealer to see what exactly you need.
