In this video it mentions that midi note function requires the rackmount dongle. I think in more recent documentation, I read that the Compact Connect unlocks it. Since this video is 3 years old, I understand that things may have changed. Can you clarify?

How would I build an efx pallet with my favorite efx and import it into a new show? For instance I frequently use a rig at a theater that has many efx and when I travel and use a completely different rig is it possible to use those efx with the new rig? If so how would one do that? Thanks swani

My venue won't really need this feature with the way our lighting rig is set up, but man, MagicQ won't be the same with this feature. It really is a game changer and it surprises me that it was only added recently. Awesome job Chamsys! :)

Can we midi map pan and tilt?

I... I dont feel it. The design for the old Extra Wing makes more sense. Having those Execute Flash buttons next to the faders than above is more handy for flash only effects when you dont want to risk moving any faders. And of corse having 12/12 in groups of 4 feels better to me. Iluminated fader and a touch screen do look fancy, but does it actually improve the workflow? But I dont want to complain too much, guess I have to figure it out by myself if it is worth.

How do I make sure my cue change has saved? When I edit my color for each specific cue and press play on the playlist it works. But when I go in and out of different playlists, my change hasn’t saved. I press clear once I’ve made each change I want!

Hi! 1) My console doesn't show up as yours do in the network settings on my PC. 2) When entering the static IP-adress and press ok, it says "The default gateway is not on the same network that is defined by IP address". I have entered the IP adress and subnet mask in the console as advised. What to do?

I just got new equipment lucky me, I have the GN5 and a ETC iron xe console I have them contact by cat 5 so I also have the console connected to a router, so could you help with me getting the console talking to the GN5, it’s probably not to difficult but any advice would be helpful

I am having trouble with palette continuity. At the point where I removed my patch, all my palette data was gone. The only thing remained was the palette name. When I then patched the new fixtures. The palettes stayed dark and didn‘t contained any values. I had to rebuild all the palettes in my showfile to get it to work properly. Is this the only way or am I missing something?
