The bad thing is a symphonic hard metal band or goth music band is terrble. It is a cover for bad singing and a bands music that overshadows the female singers abil;ity to ennuciate the lyrics so you know what message they are trying to convey and the worst of it the fans have their heads to close to the amps so they cannot hear and could care less about the music. People grovel at Floors altar and it took me having to find a video of Amaranth where they had the lyrics on the screen to find out what the song is about. Amazingly it is a beautiful song but, the way Floor slurs her words and rushes through the song to keep Up with the tempo of the band you would never know it. Same thing goes gor Storytime! She is just a bad singer with too many tats that has been shoved into a spot and expected to perform like a monkey on a string, it is all about the money. I think she got her voice training from calling pigs in from the yard on a farm. Nightwish is losing members and soon will be gone just like the other goth bands, they live in a niche market of screamers and hog callers and gut growlers of times gone past and if not the practiced melodies and harnonies of the band all the Goth heavy metal symphonic bands with unintelligible lyrics would sound the same, white noise. But what would you or could expect from the frozen north but confusion and noise.

I really wasn't sure what to expect listening to this tour. Marco is top in my eyes. But this...works. Troy's timbre is right. So it doesn't sound as powerful but also doesn't sound out of place.

I think Troy very good job in this song, added some rock edge to his voice. Of course everybody goin to compare to Marko, but it's silly. Marko left the band by his own reasons, now the band have to handle it as they can. And as I see, they hanlde it pretty well. I just hate to read all those "not the same" comments. They give us a good show and with new music Tuomas will deal with lack of Marko. And yes, I'm pretty sure that Marko won't come back. The trust is lost, you know.

I agree to a certain point. Jukka Koskinen is one of the best bass players Nightwish could have found to replace Marco. He is a beast of a player, with a good stage presence and the right character for Nightwish. His work in Wintersun is amazing. The additional vocal sharing between Floor and Troy doesn't do it for me though. On some songs, like Seven Days to the Wolves or Noise, it works. In others, like Last Ride of the Day and I Want My Tears Back, it does not. Troy has a good voice, but he is no Marco. Not to compare, but simply because Floor needs a powerfull male voice to counter her in the harder songs. Troy can't deliver that, simply because his voice has the wrong color and tone for it. His voice is softer and more folky. Those songs feel empty. I can't see the band performing songs like Weak Fantasy, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Romanticide or Wish I had an Angel with Troy on backing vocals. So for me the harsh truth is still this: Nightwish is doing great, better than expected, but they are sorely missing something of vital importance for a large part of their back catalogue. I hope they find a good permanent replacement (for example: Jarko Ahola or ICS Vortex). If not, the band has lost some of it's magic for me.
